| Name: Assassination Location: Any Land Rank: Must be at least Tier A-3 to lead mission Team: Not required Client: Contract Board Rewards: 1,000 Exp and 2,000 Ryo Description: One of the local towns has put out a hit on their tyrannical mayor. The town is well fortified, surrounded by large wooden fence and gates at each compass point. There are a few guards within and without the village, they change shifts every two hours. Each guard is moderately well trained and sports 70 in all stat areas. Your target, is an old jounin from one of the five major villages. He knows all elemental jutsu A-rank and lower of the element associated with his old village (This is left up to you. Earth, Water, Fire, Air, or Lightning), He has 90 in his first three stats with 70 in the last two. He is found in his office building with at least five guards around him at all times.

A hitman. Was that what Roku had become? It didn’t matter that the man was a tyrant, and it didn’t matter to Roku that he was an ill-doing tyrant – the fact was that Roku was by no means an executioner, and even less a judge or jury. How could he find the mayor of the small town he was supposed to assassinate guilty, and then proceed to take the man’s life on his own judgment? Even if this was morally or ethically good, this wasn’t even in Roku’s home land, where he might have authority to make such calls. He was in a foreign land, taking it upon himself, to take out a mayor who deprived his constituents of any form of justice, and forcefully held office.

The Adventures of a Troubled Boy
Roku was now walking through the wilderness of the Land of Fire, careful not to break any sticks, stepping light enough so as to not even injure the insects that his footfalls landed on. It was an hour or two before sunset, and the sky was painted glorious shades of red, pink, and orange, as the sun’s rays bounced off of what would otherwise be white, fluffy clouds, and it was a beautiful sight. Roku was making his way to the location of his target. He fully intended on using stealth, deciding it was best to chop off the head of the beast and allow the rest of the body to die. He was close now, not more than a mile away, as the trees ended. He spent the next hour awaiting nightfall.

Once it was dark outside, Roku risked getting closer. Finding the closest and tallest tree, Roku climbed atop it, and for the next six hours, until about three am, Roku hid at the top of his tree, watching the guards. There weren’t many, but it seemed like the few that were there were fairly strong. Not knowing if these men were in on the tyrant’s scheme and profited from it, or if they were conscripted, Roku did not want to engage them and end their lives. He noticed that they changed shifts every two hours so far, so on the third shift change, three hours after midnight, Roku made his move.

He made a beeline for the village. He moved quickly enough that he wasn’t risking being caught by dawdling and being too late, but not so fast that it caused him to be sloppy. Once Roku got into the village, he hid behind a large building, and he consulted a map. Memorizing what seemed like a good route, Roku waited another two hours, not having to move from his hiding place, until the next shift change, and he was on his way to the building that would house the mayor. He had to duck behind a few buildings, as he wanted to strike at the mayor when the shifts changed, rather than prioritizing movement during that time, and Roku was sure that the mayor would be stronger than his henchmen. Fighting him and his henchmen at the same time would be a bad idea.

Roku arrived at precisely the location that he wanted to be in. It would be just four minutes now until the next shift change. Roku positioned himself behind another building, this one smaller, and found himself in a location that would allow him to storm the house. It was time. Roku knew exactly what room the mayor’s office was in, and could even see the man through one of the windows. That window was not in a good place for Roku to attack, because the mayor was facing it directly, so Roku, sprinting at his maximum speed, Naegiling in hand, positioned himself so that he could see the wall to the mayor’s left. There was no window as Roku was hoping. His entrance would, in that case, need to be more theatrical.

Realizing that he had no choice, taking a running start, Roku leapt into the air at full force, colliding with the wall of the second story office. Startled, the mayor had no time to react as Roku sliced at his throat with Naegling. The mayor miraculously dodged, but Roku was too much. He activated Chakra Blitz, doubling his speed (to 200), as chakra coursed through his veins, half of it increasing his physical capabilities, the other half stabilizing his body and making sure he didn’t destroy himself physically. Roku sprung forward and the man didn’t react. In the mayor’s eyes, Roku was standing still when the mayor’s head was miraculously disconnected from his shoulders, and suddenly, Roku stood over his headless, lifeless body.

By now, the alarms were blaring and Roku was numb. He had to get out of there, because he knew that the moment he saw someone, he would not feel guilty at all in taking their life if he had to, which was not a mentality that he wanted to have, nor that he was proud of. Still moving in literal blinding speeds, Roku vanished from the sight of any person on the scene, when he would not reappear again until he was three miles away, on his way back to Konohagakure, and a dead drop midway there that would hold his payment. Apparently, Roku was rather good at assassination, but it was definitely not an occupation he wanted to take up.
