When

Odd and yet a new mission had arisen, one which had not been issued by the former Shogun. Naturally said shogun could not have possibly issued such a mission for he was, sadly, completely deceased. however this tragic passing was it was also many other things, not the least of which were the impetus for the arising of this new informational gathering mission. Many other villages were very confused as to what exactly had occured to the shogun and Jae marked himself among those who wished to know exactly what was going on in the realm of the land of Iron. He had briefly considered that he may need to take up the mantle and yet at the same time did not think he truely wanted that sort of responisiblity. What purpose other than boring fame would such a title bare? Why would he willingly chose to rule a small and rather dead land when the land of Kiri was so much more apetizing.

And so it was that he had decided to first tackled the learning of that which was the death of the ruler of his village before making actual decisions as to what he would do next. Perhaps the chase would lead him far from the village and he may not return for years. Who, really, was to say?

Odd and yet a new mission had arisen, one which had not been issued by the former Shogun. Sloppy and yet as it were there were eye witnessess to the scenario at hand. There were a few samurai who had died, many more maimed and traumatized, and a few that survived mostly unscathed by the attack. Naturally the man already knew from the paper s and rampant rumors that the shogun had been slain by some strange attack but also that there were others in ninja lands who had also been slain an almost the exact time. Only fools currently believed that such a wide spread event was anything close to coincidence; no, nearly everyone had decided that some external entity had attacked all of these villages simuiltaneiously. The question that remained important was if it was another village, a shadow orginazation, or some combination of the two.

Rumors had also abounded of the fall of Iwagakure, a once proud ... ish village reduced to, as some would say, nothing more than rocks and rubble. However some believed that this attack had been perpetuated on them too and that the village now served as a seat of power for the attackers. Well good. He needed some excitement.

The interviews were not of the most helpful endeavors he had undertaken but he did manage to find a visual profile upon this person, something which an additioanl round of interviews within the village and by stealing up into the more secretive vaults of samurai wisdom revealed a person who had some already existing information on him. It seemed the attacker was well known if nothing else in reknown, a sort of boogie man if you will, a spektor who appeared to attack throughout the annals of history only to once more vanish into the pages for long streches of time. A lone attack seemed increasingly unlikely as this was the only person, based on eye witness accounts, which anyone seemed to recognize or agree upon. By comparing them through some documents and sketchy photos and silhouettes he had come up with a visual profile and very little else on this man who had so easily struck down the perosn who was allegedly the most powerful among the villagers.

"Gluttony."

That was the name he had come up with by asking around and reading many more books and scrolls than he had innitially wanted to. And yet finally, nearing the end of all of this nonsense, he had come up with this name or rathe rwith this which was clearly the moniker of a man who had long since abandoned what ever ties he had ha dto a village if ever he had had them. The man, hair blazing, rolled his eyes within the confines of the study area even though there was no one around to see him.
1. What an absurd name for this person to have chosen for himself. Even worse if whoever controlled him had given it to him.
2. What a boring naming scheme, as if the western sins had not been used and abused to the extent that they had lost nearly all meaning. And of course
3. He was an external entity bent only on doing evil, likely in the name of some obscure and stupidly concocted good. Likely they wanted to cleanse the world of ninja scum, something Jae agreed with but which he knew others would be incapable of fully understanding let alone realizing. He sighed before leaving the room.

So Gluttony and his ilk would doubtlessly have to die. Perhaps they would serve some purpose or do some amount of good but in the end they would fall upon their own ambitions. How would they who, if they had grabbed power, ever chose to cede it back to normal humans to create a false paradise? They wouldn't, clearly, but instead would attempt to rule with their super powers and eventually incure a rebellion. How foolish, how booring, how narrow and short and stupid. Just thinking about it got him a bit riled up and so he strode on, onward and outward from thevillage and back to his favorite mountain range where he had recently taken up residence.

He had a few more techniques he needed to create before setting off but he was clearly going to have to investigate Iwa. Well, that and there was another mission posted for doing just that so it really didn't take much thinking to guess at Gluttony's affiliations. It wasn't like there were any other big bad orgs, right?
