Tired of the Blood and Guts (p, Missions)

Roku was tired of the blood and guts. He had done nothing but high ranking, high danger missions where he had to kill. So, today, he spent some time out in the village just walking around, helping people where he could. He had to do some things that he could feel good about. That's why, when a woman approached him about painting her fence, he hastily agreed. Accepting the painting supplies from the woman, he followed her back to her home. Around her home and the property was a rather beautiful white fence. At least the wood was still beautiful. There was no paint on it, and so it seemed rather mismatched from the rest of her home. Roku took the paint brush, and will gentle strokes, coated each and every plank with pristinely colored white paint. It was rather beautiful. It took him a few coats, but soon, the entire fence was covered in beautiful white paint that looked great with the woman's bright yellow house. When he finished, he returned the woman's painting supplies and left, happy with the simple job and helping an old lady.

The next case where Roku chose to help someone was something that was actually quite common in Konohagakure, and it upset Roku that more ninja did not spend more time taking care of it. A lot of people's houses had been covered and blocked by massive boulders when the Hokage Monument had quite literally been thrown on top of the village. People couldn't get into their homes and were living in the street because of it, and yet the village government was so worried about restoring the great stone faces. This time, when Roku saw a man with the same issue, he approached him and offered to help. Roku easily lifted most of the boulders out of the way, and aligned him on the edge of the man's property, but when he was finished, he decided the boulders looked rather bad. So Roku decided it would be a nice idea to try and make art out of them - he decided to arrange them into the shape of a happy face. The man paid Roku and he was on his way.

Roku felt good giving back to the average people. The blood had gotten to him. He'd been on more assassination type missions as of late than probably any other ninja in the world, and he hadn't even done them for his own country. He felt terrible. Was he betraying Kumogakure? Should he go back? Was Kumogakure a place that he should want to be? His life there was nothing he had ever wanted. All it did was remind him of imprisonment, and yet, he could do nothing but miss it. It didn't matter. He had to live in the present. Roku saw a missing pet sign and, in an attempt to get his mind off of things, decided to try and track it. He had a rather odd description, something that he could not mistake, and a list of likely places it would be in the woods. Roku, following the pamphlet's description, tracked through the woods, trying multiple places, until he came across a clearing. The pet wore a top hate with a red collar, and fit the description perfectly. What the paper did not mention was that it was a full damn Gorilla! The angry animal charged Roku, and Roku made a quick maneuver to subdue it. Roku knocked it out and inspected it, finding a rather painful looking wound. He reasoned that it was probably the reason the gorilla ran off and was aggressive, so he cleaned it up, and returned Fluffy to its owner.
