This is how we do it

The morning seemed to move by slowly as Kireina allowed her head to press softly against the base of a tree. Her mind was slightly dazed as she was overcome with a bit of exhaustion and fatigue, she couldn’t believe how long of a day it had been as she had been training endlessly letting each day roll to another. If anyone would have told her the current date she probably would have called them a liar since most of her training had been sluggish as of so far. Yet here she was completely wiped out and sweating relentlessly as she fought to keep her eyes open. It wasn’t often that the woman placed this much effort into training, maybe it was because a new kage had been appointed and it wasn't her. If that was the case then that would mean that she'd had a hell of a lot of pent-up anger that she'd been expending over the past weeks. A frail memory washed over her mind as she played back the time of when she had met Illya, the former Mizukage. It The meeting had occurred quite some time ago but the Hyuuga's memory was like an elephant's so it felt fresh.

Kireina would slowly make her way over towards the bank of a pond as she allowed her arms to dip down into the water. Soothing she then stretched with an exhale slowly escaping her lips as the water ran down her arms and she shook her hands a bit so that it would also splash her face. As usual, she had spent the majority of her time training in the fresh air of the forest, a few miles away from the Kirigakure Hyuuga compound. A soft mellow breeze would wash across her body, as Kireina would gaze into the sky above the forest and admire the beams of sunlight that broke through the canopy of the treetops and graced her face. Today the forest seemed a little livelier than usually as the sounds of birds filled the air, bees and butterflies danced across the sea of flowers with bunnies, squirrels, and other little critters out playing. The corners of her mouth would curve up ever so slightly as the warmth on her face created a false plush. Her body would slowly descend to the cotton soft grass as she was finally taking a break.

Kireina’s arms slowly stretched out to her sides as she allowed the grass to tickle her skin.

Alone in this oasis, it was as if she’d be transported to some fantasy world. Based on what you hear about Kiri one would never imagine that a place as beautiful as this could exist. Even if her family didn’t take special care of this chunk of land it was still a cut above the rest. Slowly another breeze washed over her body as she slowly shut her eyes. The sounds of nature lulling her to sleep. After a few minutes, she allowed her body to lean forward as she rose to her feet. The young woman wasn’t about to break out in song or start talking to animals or anything but whatever mystical healing powers this land had they’d worked. He mind was clear of all thoughts, her body felt light and refreshed, she was ready to train some more. There were no clear paths to this place and other than the village elders and kage no one knew about this place aside from the clan. However before she could get back to her training a loud grumble came from her stomach, when had been the last time she ate?

It wouldn't take long to reach the estate, where she could also get a proper bath and change of clothes.

Kireina would allow her mind to debate the various lunch items she could have as she put on a pot of tea. In the meantime, she would place her outfit into the wash before slipping into the bath. When the cook came by she would stop her and ask her to prepare a three course meal, for even without the use of her dojutsu K could tell the sound of the woman’s footsteps. As she soaked Kireina stared out a window, the smell of the floral tea would soon enough fill the air letting her know it was time to exit. A mountain in the distance was also pleasing to look at it.; Her fingers would lightly tap on the side of the tub. She rested with her eyes open, sort of like an out of body experience. To survive, I will do almost anything especially if that means taking the life of another. She thought to herself while pondering what mission she would be sent on next. She’d obviously been out of the loop for quite some time but her skills were still renowned and attune.

The whistle of the kettle would break the woman from her stagnant state.

She’d been thinking of the distant lands beyond this country, how greatly or little some of them differed from it. Where illness could not be treated because there was no hospital or medicine. Where ninja weren’t used because there were no teachers. Sure there was poverty all over the world but for some, there was never a chance for a come up. If you’re lucky the journey to a better life doesn’t kill you and you can send money home or even have your family moved. The compound she lived in was lavish and accommodated all of her clansmen, they probably had more than they needed but due to their reason for moving, they weren’t at all pretentious and/or arrogant. The few people they did have helping couldn’t get jobs elsewhere so it’s not like the clan was pampered. Rising from the pool she would dry off and redress in a plain kimono then proceed to get herself a glass and fill it with tea. She would sit slowly sipping it on the roka as the breeze made the few wet strands of her hair feel cold against her skin.

The bitterness would smoothly run down her throat, it was calming and perfect; Just enough lemon and sugar.

A smile glowed on her face, it was like some special ability to make a perfect cup each time. Not long after K would have finished her tea and spent three or so minutes savoring the fading flavor when the food would be finished. It would take over thirty minutes for the young woman to move through each course. Once done she would smile softly to the cook before disappearing out of the door. However, her departure from the home wouldn’t be immediate as she had to retrieve her clothes. As she exited the home a carriage passed under a large oak tree, a messenger slowly leaned his arm over while holding a scroll in his hand. Kireina took it and he rode off, reading the contents she learned that the Mizukage had selected her for a special mission. In just a few short hours K would adventure out of the village to this place where she would see the other lands for herself.

Although she wasn’t one to rush things, K knew that the kage would not wait and that she needed to be on her way as soon as possible. Moving so fast she seemed to teleport back to her private forest garden to get back to her training.

By now she would be nearly complete but she would try to put the finishing touches on it, however, she wouldn’t be sure if she was actually successful until she had a proper weapon. You see the girl had spent all this time training with just a normal sword in order to be chosen to wield one of the legendary swords of the mist. The only thing was that they weren’t all exactly swords, they each did something special and took even more training to master. As beneficial as it would’ve been to have had a partner to train with there hadn’t been wielders of these swords in ages. Also because of this K was not being passed a torch but instead being asked to reignite it so that when her time came she could select the new wielder. That being said she wanted to train her body to be capable of using any kind of weapon.

Right now the only thing she could think about was how to push herself to the next level. She could more or less cut through anything and infuse chakra into her bukijutsu wasn’t a problem either. Activating the tree climbing jutsu Kireina resumed her training from before only this time she would be doing it sideways.

Had she been indoors or even had wind nature she’d also practice upside down. While the girl had exhausted every possible avenue of solo weapon training what she was doing now would by far be the hardest as while she was going around slashing at trees and bushes her only targets were dying flora. For anyone that’s never gardened, it’s quite tricky to get rid of the bad plants without removing or stunting the growth of the good ones. Although she was almost one hundred percent recharged pruning at this scale would be extremely draining, good thing she was a ninja. This would also be good news for the landscape team as it meant that they would be able to take a mini vacation.

Kireina finished up rather sooner than she had anticipated, she also ran into said workers and let them know that they could have the rest of the day off. A thought popped into her head about how long they’d been there, it was possible that they saw or heard her training earlier and came back when she went to eat. Or they could’ve started at the edge of the garden to work their way back thinking she’d be gone by then.

Hearing a commotion coming from a nearby bar she was passing by Kireina walked over to the bartender. He told her about one or two bandits that had passed through only seconds ago claiming to be going to meet the rest of the gang that arrived in town. They had been, of course, harassing people and causing trouble. Luckily the bartender was a bigger guy than both of them and was able to scare them off before any real damage could be done.

She quickly asked the bartender if he knew where the two guys from the gang were currently headed. The bartender said that they had been bragging about robbing a convoy that should be passing through in an hour or so. The convoy would be making a few stops around the village to resupply before stopping at the next town which was only 6 miles north from here. Nodding to the man Kireina decided to do a little more cleaning before handling her business. Being someone that was apart of the system she already knew how the authorities would handle this situation and she didn’t want these guys to get away with messing with one of her favorite hangouts.

Using her byakugan it wasn’t hard to track down the perps, she let them run away from the village to avoid unnecessary damage. Once they felt safe hiding away in a barn Kireina moved in at an almost blinding speed moving from one to another until they were all down. There was some rope in abundance here so she restrained them and proceeded to drag them with her to the kage’s office.

Of course, the people downstairs would stop her and ask what was going on before she was allowed to ascend to the office. This she’d fully expected however everything after would be a mystery. She had no idea who’d be there for her initiation or if there was even a ceremony for this sort of thing. The Seven Swordsmen of the Mist weren’t exactly a secret group but a new member also wasn’t as big as a new kage. Regardless it was still an honor and as far as she knew the new Mizukage wasn’t a member so her meeting with him would be further delayed. Unless of course, she was the only member then he would have to be the one to allow her in the room where the weapons were kept.

However, the young woman found this out of the question because if it were true then she would’ve been selected long before now. So with the thought in mind of meeting a bunch of new people who were possibly stronger than herself Kireina took a breath before taking the final steps leading to her joining a great legacy. From here on out she would be out to conquer only the greatest feats. If anyone could read her current thoughts and feelings they might think that she was acting as if she’d just become kage, but hey that was the ultimate goal wasn’t it.
