Nunchucks for a Fool
The academy reported that one of their best taijutsu students had gotten a bit ahead of himself and taken his teachers nunchucks. It was thought he could or would be found practicing. So Gekkido once more went to the park in search of the boy, but no where could he be found. The word on the street was that he was somewhere on the outskirts of the woods practicing with the stolen nunchucks. Gekkido knew the craving for power, and the signs it carried with it. He was familiar with the boys hunger for greater strength, and sympathized with the loneliness of ambition. He paced himself slowly as he went into the wood, knowing that he would find the boy shadow swinging and practicing against a tree. In the distance he could hear grunts of effort and anger, and he knew he was nearby. Finally, he came to the young man who was, as he expected found practicing and doing all he could to improve one move with the nunchucks. Gekkido watched for a moment in private, not wanting to interrupt the beauty of what he saw. Gekkido thought for a flash of a moment what he could do with one hundred children just like this. The army he’d have would be… unstoppable. Nevertheless, for the time being he was a security guard and a soldier; his job was to follow orders. He confronted the boy softly and the nunchucks were submitted. He walked back to the grounds with the boy, encouraging him to continue practicing for one day he would possess a weapon of equal or greater strength to the one he’d stolen. Gekkido could not help but feel encouraged to hear the ambitions of the young boy as the walked along the trail, they reminded him so much of himself.
