Clean One

Gekkido swept the training grounds, a task he was assigned to every day of this week. It was crap work, but hey - he needed the money. That being said, he got to sweeping. he began in the far corner of the grounds and soon found himself picking up more than a litte trash fromm all sides. It never ceased to amaze him just how lazy the kids at the academy were. Gekkido didn't let it get under his skin though. One thing he had been pondering lately was how being a leader meant having an uncanny ability to look at a negative situation and make something positive out of it. All of these seemingly intolerable flaws he found in the villagers to whom he served were blessings in disguise. He needed them to be lazy in order for him to have a job. Gekkido was an opportunist, which mean that he saw everything as an opportunity to further himself and his goals. You could call it a kind of aggressve positivism. He stuck with that narrative and gladly swept all of the grounds. Everywhere from the front office to the recreation room he swept. It was not beneath him to pick up trash, and he needn't act as though it were. Far be it from an orphan to shy away from dirty work. He was raised on this kind of work; this kind of grind, if you will. He used this time of meaningless work to work on his mind and on his heart. He cherished inside of himself an ideal. This ideal was exactly who he needed to be to have things manifest in his life as a result of becoming it. How well could one do small tasks? This was something that he'd heard from an elder once during his days of poverty as an orphan. Greatness was the quality of the smallest acts and thoughts found in a person. Because they were the origin point for all else that came from them. He knew exactly who he needed to be, and would from this point on use every situation he came across as raw material to be used to fuel and create that image. Adding meaning to the sweeping not only made it better, but made him better.
