Something Uninteresting [P|FB]

Highly bored after some time, he had taken to roaming the streets without any particular aim what so ever. While it was true that this desolate village existed in somewhere so bland and unseasonably hot, he had found a great deal more entertainment here than he had in that cursed Kumo. Sad, really, for such an objectively beautiful place to have been so devoid of life. And here, within the desert, where there grew nearly no flowers, life teemed almost endlessly. Shrugging, he continued to wander, trapped in a meditative haze.

He sighed as he went, focusing inward upon himself more so than outward, upon his dreams and ambitions, few though they were. Within the Sand he had met ninja, true ninja and warriors. It was odd to have met them as though he had little to no loyalty the samurai in principle, he was well aware that they were stouter and much more proficient fighters. They also tended to resort to underhanded tactics with significantly much less frequency, though Jae found that rather boring; he enjoyed the little snakes that tiny brat launched at him, even if he had no reason to fear such stupid attacks. There was something there though, a level of brazen confidence that Jae wished to destroy.

Though Neah did not have any magical weaponry, which relegated him to beyond useless, and Kumo was not, as far as the samurai had heard, well known for mystical weaponry, though they had some amount of skills with blades. Curiously, it seemed that the art of weaponry was far, far, far, far more common here than any samurai may have been prepared to find. Obviously this singular vampire.. thing had not tasted the full breadth of the ninja world, he saw a lot more full swords than he would have guessed. He could only imagine what Kiri was like. As he strolled, he bumped into a few people without noticing, utterly unconcerned as he dreamed about the future and those legendary blades of the mist. Even in the Land of Iron those swords carried a legend and legacy and this samurai intended to test his mettle against them and, eventually, secure them.

He had always been, well, regenerative in nature, by birth and skill. His flesh as well as his spirit revived and recovered from nearly every wound, something which served him well in the war pits and made him a crowd favorite until he finally turned against them. Nothing personal, of course, but he had things that could not be accomplished living life under the ownership of others. He found that he had approached the academy, a place of ninja learning. Intriguing. He vented off a bit of chakra as he went, nothing visible, but something that granted a wake around him into which most of the civilians dared not tread.

Even after losing that chakra, his body, and blade of choice, worked to grant him more. He was once more topped off by the time he found himself standing in the middle of a training arena. He could challenge some of the kids and teens to a spar or wide scale war, but that seemed uninteresting; what could ninja do to oppose him? And more so, what could untrained child ninja do that the adults around could not? Nothing, but perhaps he could learn from them and so he asked them what they liked to do in their free time. Most ignored him or shot him a glare, but a once he indicated that he was a real, living and breathing honest-to-god samurai they flocked to look at and poke him.

Flash forward a few hours and Jae is sitting in a room in the local dormitory, head on the ground and body draped up over the edge of some kids bed, staring into a small screen whereupon a small collection of warriors fought at the behest of the players' controller clicks. Jae had no idea what was going on, at least at first, but he caught on fairly quickly and, all things considered the game was rather intuitive. And Jae picked up on it pretty fast as well; he's always been quick on the uptake. The kids thought hit was great fun to defeat him until the tables began to turn and the samurai starting to win a few rounds.

After an hour or so his raw reflexes became too much for the young ninja to keep up with and he proved generally undefeatable to all but the most ludicrous of risky gambits. To challenge himself further, he took his hands from the small plastic box that sent input commands to the console, floating his digits just above the buttons and using pure chakra to move them. This significantly slowed down his ability to play the game and added another layer of complexity to the affair, and it was a bit tiring to boot. He had a massive chakra reserve but he could still feel the small and familiar pull of the energy leaching away from his body and the equally familiar revitalization of the energy returning to him. Wondrous tenketsu his ass.

This, too, grew highly thin as his learning curve took over once again and he began to take a round or two off of the children around him. Hours at this point had passed his spiritual energy had drained and grew and drained and grew many times over. His body allowed for the creation of new chakra pathways and new chakra much more easily than most others, samurai or ninja alike. And thus his already oceanic supply of chakra had grown that much larger, though in recent times he had heard of monstrous entities made entirely of chakra who dwarfed even his own amount. Well, he would see about that.

Standing up, he wished the children a good day and strode out and away. For just a brief moment he had the compulsion to just annihilate the children and that spear upon his back suddenly burned with determination and desire. But, alas, they had nothing of note or worth, slaughter would get him nothing here, and besides, he rather liked it here in this desert. The people were a bit more lively and interesting, though the village contained nothing in particular that he needed to collect. Once more he had entered into his state of roaming through the village, hoping that he could find something worthwhile to occupy his time left with.

Once more he turned his eyes and mind towards the future, which occupied two places: Konoha and Kiri. The latter contained the blessed blades, items of allegedly immense power but whose abilities he highly, highly doubted. There was no way they stood up to his own Sage Slaying spear, regardless of the legends that surrounded them. The former contained the dread Uchiha clan, an allegedly populous group of people with an astounding propensity for shurikenjutsu, the art form the ninja used to describe ranged combat with weapons as far as Jae could tell. They seemed to have a few treasures as well which he would like to find and repossess.
