Moon Hallucination

She had fallen asleep at some point that she could not recall. Had she been experimenting with some new chemicals? Had she just been dozing out in the sun? Reading a book or exhuming a body? Her mind could no longer remember what exactly was going on and, as was customary of a dream, she had found herself isolated within a kind of maze or prison of her own design. Though, it may not have been of her own design after all.

She was walking down a single path with darkness on either side, the white walkway straight ahead aside from the occasional sharp turn or angle. She did not know what she was doing or where she was going, though she also did not consider such questions and instead traveled endlessly down the pathway. Above her, the moonlight hung in a mad array of every shape of moon encompassed the entire sky, the light striking her pale flesh from every angle.

She had walked for what felt like a very long time, though the unwavering nature of the lighting made it difficult to judge the passage of time. Instead, she simply kept going down this maze with no walls and only one singular path. Eventually, she camp upon a small, black rabbit sitting along the path and, once she had seen it it began to bound away. She felt the urge to follow it and began running down the path, not noticing that as it turned down the increasing sharp turns she could not see it until she was flush with it in the particular hallway, as if there were in fact walls which blocked her vision.

She continued going down, running as fast as she could and, as she did, she saw more and more rabbits, mostly black and white but with the occasional reddish pink one. Infrequently she swore that she could see an exotic color of rabbit and in all variants of sizes and shapes, some which hardly appeared to be rabbits at all.

Abruptly, she found herself in something which resembled a room, though this room too had no walls and instead had simply the suggestion of borders. Rabbits came and went as if there were all sorts of doors and windows she could not see, most of them simply slipping from view as if turning sideways and vanishing. She moved forward unstoppably towards a small stone bowl filled with a clear liquid in which the moon shown. She drank of it and then was falling.

She fell for what felt like forever, her body attacked on all side and dimensions by a strange new force. The energy of the moon rabbits flooded her mind, her flesh, her spirit, and she felt herself transformed in a way which she had never before felt. She could feel herself increase in power, her understanding of medicine leap eons ahead of her peers. Eventually the power over came her and yet the energy kept increasing and, as if by another vision, the rabbits once more showed her the way. Within a newly born seal across her forehead she stored this sudden influx of energy, safely tucked away for a much later date.

When finally she woke, somewhere within the deep bowels of the desert, she felt the sheer exhaustion of having converted so much of her own chakra into natural energy. A hand moved up to her forehead, feeling the mark there which stored that new reservoir of power.
