| Today was the day! Kirito had been studying and preparing himself to invent some jutsu and he felt that today he would put his theories to the test. His mind had been whirring all week with various thoughts for possible jutsu and he planned to put at least a few of those into action today. The first jutsu on his list was based on the Rain Tiger at Will Technique. But, instead of rain to supply for water jutsu, it would cause a blizzard to supply for Ice jutsu. He felt that with this technique, he would be able to take real control over his environment which was half the battle. If one had the field advantage, they could control the outcome of the battle!
"Alright! Lets get this started!" He would exclaim.
Forming the tiger seal and then the bird seal, he would focus. The Tiger seal would actually be the start of the Rain Tiger at will technique. But the second seal would refocus the jutsu to cause the rain to freeze before it left the clouds that had formed above him.

| It would take a few minutes before anything happened. Kirito would cancel his chakra flow to the jutsu and start again. Forming the seals, he would focus on the creation of the clouds in such a manner that would allow them to begin precipitation. It would be a minute before it started to rain. This was not the outcome he had wanted, so, he focused more on the shower around him. Slowly, the rain began to freeze. It was freezing rain for a number of minutes before it started to turn to full on sleet. This wasn't the result he was looking for and it upset him greatly.
Continuing to pump chakra into his jutsu and try to freeze the rain farther. He realized that he was focusing too hard on freezing. He needed to think of how snow actually felt. It was light and fluffy, not solid and frozen. It was a much lighter form than what he was getting now.

| So, focusing on making the sleet lighter and in a more controlled shape, Kirito would continue to work on the technique. Pooling his chakra to continue to work on forming snow. It was more about control than it was about quantity. He needed to control the shape of the element and its state, as opposed to making a lot of it. That could come later. So, he caused the "storm" to slow down. It was then that he was able to focus on contorting the shape and makeup of each drop of water until finally it was drizzling small flakes of snow.
Now, this was nowhere near the amount he wanted, nor the amount he felt he really needed. He needed to cover a large area and fast with snow and ice. He decided to focus again, but this time on the water that was still in the air in the vicinity of his technique as opposed to ONLY the water in the technique.

| Now he felt like he was getting somewhere. Making the air around the jutsu colder helped to control the shape and density of the snow even more. It even felt a little like the air was doing some of his work for him! So, now he needed to work on the quantity of his now quality snow. It was more complicated than just pumping more and more chakra into the technique as it required too much precision for the technique to be overstuffed like that.
So, now he needed to figure out how to make more snow fall. Pushing a little more chakra into the technique, he would also add a bit of his pure chakra into it for the sake of stabilizing the molecules. It seemed to be working as the clouds seemed to grow darker. "Yes! I think I almost have this one down!" He would exclaim as he continued to work

| It was around two hours after he had initially started his training that he saw his technique come to fruition. The snow fell around him just as he remembered it from the Land of Iron. He would never admit it, but he rather enjoyed the nostalgia brought on by the feeling of snow touching is hair and the brisk air it brought with it entering his lungs. He loved the snow and he found it to be an absolutely beautiful aspect of nature. Now he had the power to call on it at a moments notice.
Falling back to enjoy the moment, he would create a snow angel. He would always do this as a kid whenever they got breaks from the dojo. The kids all loved making them and then customizing them with different attributes like eyes and mouths. It was a simpler time, but he was getting off topic. It was time to work on his next jutsu.

| It was now time for Kirito to begin on his travels to Konohagakure. It was the next stop on his way to the village known as Kirigakure which he felt would help him to learn to use more water techniques. Anyways, as he traveled, he would work on his next technique. It was one that dropped the temperature in an area so fast that the very air would freeze from the ground up. It would then be able to form an ice prison around his target. This was a much weaker version than one he had dreamed up earlier in the week, but at the moment, this one seemed to be a lot more achievable.
He would continue to walk down the desert path, focusing on various plants trying to freeze the air around them. It was slow going for now, but he had faith that it would work itself out if he kept pushing at it.

| He had been traveling for around two hours now and was still very slow on his progress with the technique. Maybe he needed to push more chakra into it than he was? He didn't know. But, it wouldn't be too long before he entered the Land of Fire, so he decided to take a break in a small oasis of three palm trees. Whilst sitting in the shade of one, he watched as steam rose from the ground nearby. This gave him a bit of an epiphany.
Focusing his chakra and then slamming his hands on the ground, he would cause a burst of frigid air to erupt from underneath one of the trees nearby. He then tried to freeze said air. It didn't happen exactly as he wanted as he managed to freeze a few chunks of it which fell to the ground and broke apart. At least now he was making some decent form of progress.

| Standing back up and stretching his back out, he would take back off down the road. It was not far now as he had already crossed the border into the Land of Fire. Every now and then he would stop and practice freezing the nearby trees. He was getting closer and closer to being able to freeze the whole thing in an instant. It was truly a terrifying thought that he would be able to do this to someone who wouldn't see it coming at all.
He continued to walk and freeze, and freeze and walk until he was actually feeling a bit winded. Taking a break to sit and eat a bit of the food he had packed for his journey, he would ponder the jutsu he was working on. It would be ideal for capturing enemies who were either trying to catch him, or run from him. His only issue with it as it was, was that someone who was fast enough could avoid the jutsu just by continuously moving. But, he had no way to expand its radius. Not now anyways.

| He remembered this road now as he continued down the path that he knew led to Konoha. As he walked he continued to practice his technique, even going as far as to freeze birds and squirrels as well as rabbits that scampered through the trees and across the forest floor. He was getting much better at using his technique now and it wouldn't be long before he felt that he could be competent enough with it to use it in actual combat. He would stop as he saw the village walls and the gate a little farther up the road.
Once he approached the guards, they recognized him and allowed him entrance into the village after he signed some papers. Walking forwards he knew exactly what the first thing he would do in this village was. GET RAMEN!!
