Chakra Training Like a Boss

Kirito had been meandering through the land of fire for a while now, doing various kinds of training. It wasn't an odd thing to see the young man training, as that is what he spent a majority of his time doing. But, One might be surprised to see him training just his chakra control. Most ninja his age were all about learning fancy jutsu, but Kirito was much more pragmatic and found that the most practical thing for him to devote his time to would be chakra control and how to optimize its usage within any jutsu he uses.

He would stand upside down on a cliff face, molding chakra throughout his body. This is the best way to practice chakra control. He would strain his reserves to their limit with his training so that he could come out ready to make it in any fights he might come across. It wouldn't take more than a few minutes for him to start feeling the pressure of doing this intense of training, but he knew it would be worth it in the end.

He would continue to push his chakra throughout his body, making sure to keep a steady supply to the soles of his feet, lest he fall. He decided to take a moment and formed two Rasengan in his hands, whilst also keeping a few leaves stuck to his body at different places. It would go fine for around five minutes before it seemed like his body gave out and all his chakra ended causing him to fall. He would think fast though using his hands with chakra supplied to them to catch the wall and then would find himself standing on it again, albeit sideways as opposed to upside down.

It was now that he decided that he needed to focus on his speed when using this technique, so he would begin dashing around the side of the cliff as fast as he could. It was difficult at first, but after a while it became almost second nature to him and he decided to try something else. He would walk down the side of the cliff and would make his way to a small lake he had seen on his way here, to practice water walking.

Once he finally reached the lake, he would immediately take a few slow steps onto the surface. He would wobble some due to his lack of true balance, this was his first real use of the technique since he learned it. It wouldn't be long before there was an influx of people flowing to Konoha to take part in the exams, so he needed to get a lot stronger before then to prepare himself. He needed to not only focus on improving his chakra control, but he needed to learn more jutsu and even more elements. His battle with Makoto had taught him a lot about not only versatility, but strategy within a battle rather than relying on spontaneity and instinct. He knew he would need to be much stronger if he wanted to fight Isobu and take his chakra for his own.

He had realized not long ago that this would actually free isobu from his cage, but not the seal. So, it was a desirable outcome. But, he also knew Isobu was too proud to simply roll over and give it to him, even if they were actually on good terms. It would be in the midst of this train of thought, that Kirito realized he was standing perfectly still on the surface of the lake. Progress at its finest.

Kirito decided that now, he would begin to broaden his horizons by learning a new element to add to his repertoire. He felt that fire would be the most difficult due to his natural affinity to water, so he decided he would go with the earth release that he had seen some shinobi use during his travels in the Land of Earth. Now, he had no real way of knowing how to begin his earth nature training, so he supposed he would start with something simple. He picked up a rock from the ground in front of him and he would attempt to manipulate his chakra to churn the rock to dust.

His chakra moved swiftly through the rock, but nothing happened. He did this for several minutes to no avail. It wouldn't take long before he stopped and threw the rock down in a small fit of frustration. It would hit the ground, but would remain solid.

He noticed how the rock stayed strong when it hit the ground, yet when he pushed his chakra through it, he moved it as he did when using his water or lightning chakra. Water and Lightning were both flowing natures, that would flow along a current of chakra that he provided, but earth wasn't like this. He needed to use his chakra in a solid and founded manner to manipulate the earth as he wanted to. He would pick the rock up again, slamming his chakra into it and around like it was another rock itself. Of course, this took several tries to get right, but in the end, he managed to begin the process. The first step, grind the rock into dust with pure chakra.

It was still slow going, but he could see the rock slowly begin to let off dust, showing that is was working. As he continued to push chakra into the rock, he would begin to remember some of the jutsu that he had seen demonstrated in the Land of Earth and how he might could integrate them into his own fighting style.

Now was the time to really dive into his element training. Kirito would push his chakra around inside the stone far more fervently now that he saw progress and before long, he managed to make the rock crack some and finally, it broke. So, he managed to crack and break it apart with just chakra, but he wanted to be able to turn it into dust with his chakra alone. So, he found another rock of a similar size and got to work. It took him a couple of hours, but he managed to wear it down to pure dust. He then found another rock and tried to do it faster. This went on for nearly two hours before he was finally able to get his time to a point that he was happy with it.

He could break it down into dust in five minutes. That was good enough in his opinion to begin to work on the next level. He would then find a much larger rock, this one more comparable in description to a boulder. This would obviously take a considerable amount more chakra, but, he knew he could do it.

He would place his hand onto the boulder palm down, and focus. closing his eyes in the process. He needed to focus if he would be able to do this, forcing more chakra into the boulder. He wanted to get it to the point that he would be able to turn the boulder to dust like he had the smaller rock. He could feel that he needed to push more chakra into it, so he did. So much that the boulder started to crack. He would back the amount back some, he just needed dust, not chunks. So, pushing it around, he would see dust coming from underneath his hand. Good, he was making progress.

It took him a few hours, but he managed to get it to where he could turn a very large, almost person sized rock into pure dust with ten minutes of chakra manipulation. After he managed to get this down he would start working on the final part of his manipulation training, controlling the raw earthen element. This would prove to be the most difficult of all.

He pushed as much chakra as he could muster into the earth to begin the process. He could sense that he was making steady progress with his learning. He could turn rocks to dust as he had been practicing for the past eight hours or so, but now he was simply trying to move the earth beneath him in some form or fashion. He placed his hands on the ground, palm down, and pushed chakra around. This caused the ground to rumble some as he put more and more force into his actions before finally he raised his hands up fast and pushed the chakra to follow. What happened was the fruit of all of his labors. The very earth followed his hands up and over his head, creating a veritable wall of chakra filled earth.

The moment he released his chakra hold on it, the earthen wall fell apart. So, he had made good progress for the day and it was time for him to head back into the village to find some food and then get rest before he picked up on his training first thing in the next morning.

Kirito decided that he would work on training an earth release jutsu now. This is one he had seen used a few times and seemed to have a lot of usefulness when one takes into account his previous battle with the Konoha shinobi Makoto. He knew he needed to put in all the effort he could to he able to compete with people like that, so thats exactly what he would do. He wpuld work himself half to death if he needed to in order to continue growing stronger.

He had made a lot of progress since he left his homeland and he didnt feel lile slowing down now. So, the firat thing he wouod do is begin to practice the handsigns for the jutsu while also flowing chakra through his body in the way it needed to be done. This would help him once he started to actually attempt the technique.

1/4 (Hiding Like a Mole technique)

Now that he had gotten down the hand signals good enough and there wasnt a good way of prqcticing the qpplication of chakra without attempting the technique, thats what he would try to do. He would form the seals and then focus his chakra to the ground beneath him. His goal would be to churn the earth below him into sand, slip in and then reaolidify the earth above him.

This would prove to be more difficult than he had initially thought. His first thing to overcome was just how much chakra to use to break the earth up, and then he needed to figure out hownto propell himself into the earth while simultaneously covering his tracks with solidified earth.

After working on it for a while longer, he managed to begin to tunnel himself underground. It wouldn't be too much longer now he would think to himself. Its not an easy thing however to turn solid rock into sand in a matter of seconds. It took concentration and control both, along with the knowledge of using any form of earthen manipulation. It took him several more tries, but he was finally able to tunnel his way into the ground, leaving a patch of soft sand behind him. He found it odd that he was both able to breathe and even able to keep up with what was happening above ground almost subconsciously.

He then noticed that he had left the path underground he took soft and obviously tampered with. That wouldn't do, he needed to use this as a surprise, not leaving behind obvious clues to his whereabouts. He would continue working.

Kirito would continue to push chakra into the technique, he needed to do so in order to maintain his stay underground. He now needed to figure out how to conceal his method for getting into the ground, as well as the fact he was in the ground to begin with. It wouldn't take long before he decided to try condensing the earth above him with his chakra to see if he could cause the molecules themselves to fuse back together. This would prove to have been a good idea as slowly, the sand fused back into a rock until you couldn't tell it had ever been disturbed.

Deciding to check on his progress with the jutsu, Kirito would resurface, and prepare his chakra. Flashing through hand signs at a tremendous rate, he would execute the jutsu. Sinking into the ground leaving no trace of himself behind he would extend his senses being able to know where he was in relation to everything else above ground within the jutsu. This was an amazing thing, and he would be sure to put this jutsu to good use.
