Appearance:
Jin is an athletic built tall young man. He has hair of medium length and black in color, matching his black eyes. From the back of his head, his hair cover his neck and barely touch his shoulders. From the front, his hair cover his forehead and some hair reach his eyes every now and then. The hairstyle can be categorized as very rough in nature.
His attire usually comprises of a long overcoat, it tends to get weird but he has a liking for the thing. Underneath that long coat, as expected of a shinobi, he does wear the standard gear but the long coat has to be there. Most of his attire is black, even the shinobi attire with the exception of one unique and identifiable thing: his white mask.
His mask has a red colored smile drawn on it and has slots open that do not hinder his sight at all. This mask is a bit of a habit and has no cruel and mystic history behind it. It’s not like he’s hiding a gigantic scar on his face using the mask. His face is pretty plain and normally handsome-ish. The mask covers his entire face and leaves no room for facial recognition.
Jin wears his headband on his left arm, on the bicep, kinda makes the headband more of an armband but he has little space on his forehead because of his mask.

Personality:
We’ve all heard about the spirit of the dragon (thank you Bruce Lee). Well that’s what Jin is. He holds himself to a high standard of morals, even in the challenging and sometimes ruthless world of shinobi. The shinobi code is of the utmost importance but so are his principles. If doing right by someone may end up taking his life, then that’s not a bad way of dying.

Protect the weak, oppose the oppressors: Check.
Be gentle & yet firm and strong: Check.
Dedicate yourself to the right cause: Check.
Hardwork is true key to success: Check.

Basically, it’s all the good, kind and firm thing we all idealise at some point. He devotes himself to training, helps others train and pays attention to the advice of the village elders. A great team player, he focuses on the team and tries to play the role that fills gaps. If he’s going to do something, he’s going to try for perfection. However, he won’t kill anybody if it’s not perfect. That just means, he has to try harder.

Socially, he’s pretty easy to talk to. He won’t get on anyone’s nerves because he talks too much and he won’t be the weird one out because he’s too quiet. The moderately socially tuned gentleman.

In a battle, regardless of the strength difference, he will give his all and will focus on winning fairly. He detests using sneaky ways of winning or cheating to win. It may be true for others that in a war anything goes but his morals say otherwise. Even if he faces his eternal opponent, he will still owe them a certain kind of respect, that is until they resort to underhanded means. If he does find out about such things, then he’s pretty ruthless & sometimes merciless.



Character History: Even though Jin holds himself to high morals and has some pretty shinobi-like thoughts, you’d be surprised when I tell you; he didn’t come from a shinobi family or clan.
Jin’s origins are of humble ones, he actually belongs to a merchant family that resides in Konoha. The family trade revolves around purchasing goods that are local to a certain location and then bringing them back to Konoha for selling. It’s a business where his father mostly has to travel and his mother has to get by, by herself. The good thing is, he lives in a joint family system. So the father and mother has tons of support mechanisms in place. There are uncles, then there family and what not. The business is pretty much fine. Jin is actually the first child to step into the shinobi world from within the family.
Jin was born on quiet and cold night, his father wasn’t travelling luckily. So he was there to witness the birth of the eldest heir of the Ota family. There were no complications and he came out as one healthy and responsive baby. Jin’s childhood was pretty subtle. He helped around the house, didn’t travel because his mother liked to keep him close. His mother taught him to think like how he does now. Respect others, help others and be a contributive member of the society. His father told him to be gentle and kind and always be sincere and honest in each transaction; whether it be a business or anything else.
After his three younger siblings were born, Jin had to take up the role of the eldest sibling and be more responsible. However, that didn’t last long when he revealed to his family that his goal was to become a shinobi.
The revelation of his dire shook the foundations of the merchant family. A merchant boy becoming a shinbo? Such thoughts were unheard of in the family. He endured the initial challenges. His mother, due to her motherly love and the rumors surrounding the dangers of shinobi life, shunned these feelings and desires of Jin as much as he could. His father stopped talking to him for a while and even his elders began giving him lectures to persuade him to change his life goal. Jin remained persistent and won the hearts of his family and his elders with dedication.
Finally, he was allowed to attend the Academy; where he learned the basics. After he did graduate, his family pulled him away from the shinobi life once more. He was given some merchant responsibilities and had to help out with his father for a while. That is why he is so old and still at such a low rank. After sorting things out with the family business, Jin has once again returned to the shinobi world to become a shinobi. This time, he won’t be going back to the family business.
