Weapons Testing[Mission]

Description: The local weapon shop owner has request that a shinobi tests out the new shipment due to a suspicion of tampering with the purchases. Your job is to test any of the weapons and make sure that they are all real. During testing you manage to find fake or faulty equipment report it to the shop owner and your Kage for further investigation. For your work you will recieve both normal mission rewards and nice equipment from the shop owner!

Rei stepped through the door of the shop. The first thing she noticed was the aroma, thick with metal and a hint of smoke. The sounds were not far off either: constant clanking sounds of metal against metal could be heard from the back of the shop. Of course that section was off-limits to customers. Employees and business officials only. A thin white sheet of cloth separated the customer purchasing area from the associate backroom where the clanking sound was coming from. Written across the white cloth read "Official business only"

Rei walked passed the rows and tables of equipment. It all looked impressive, but she already had a large assortment of weapons. In fact, she currently possessed a piece of equipment on her person that was likely more expensive than anything in this shop. The best part? She had made it herself. Up her hand went, flashing her leather vambracers with her hidden bows inside them. Her hand touched the cloth and pulled it to the side as she peered through the narrow doorway and stepped through. "Excuse me, I'm here upon request for a mission." she would call out, not seeing anyone in the immediate area.

He saw her before she saw him, which was a great feat considering she was a hyuga. But then again, she didn't have her byakugan activated and the man was actually far shorter than her! He was an old man, quite short and plumb, but he had very large forearms. To which, Rei could only guess was from years of being a weaponsmith. She stood as tall as she dare in front of the short man and restated her reason for being there. "I'm the shinobi sent to test and inspect your new shipment of equipment." she would say, noticing that the weaponsmith was only as tall as her shoulder.

She hadn't met an adult as short as her before, it made her a bit happy to know that she wasn't the shortest person around. Height didn't seem to bother the weaponsmith however. At Rei's reiteration of her statement, the weaponsmith's eyes brightened and he jumped for joy, jumping higher than Rei was tall. Quite the feat or so she thought for someone as short and plump as he was. "Oh good, I've been waiting for ye'! I just opened the crate of equipment behind me here. It's full of kunai and the ninja works. Test some of them out for me to ensure I got me a good deal." he said and pointed to the freshly opened crate of equipment. Rei nodded to the man and walked passed him to the crate.

She blinked once and the veins around her eyes bulged as chakra coursed through them. Her vision heightened and added clarity enhanced her sight. She was a Hyuga after all and what better to inspect equipment than with microscoping vision? She reached down and grabbed a kunai gently. It was cold steel and cut nicely. It possessed a keen edge, sharper than the human eye could perceive- yet her eyes could see the edge clearly. One quick flick of her wrist and the kunai sailed behind her, straight over the weaponsmith's head and landed squarely into a target board on the far wall. The short man stuttured in surprise and then turned to see where the knife had landed. "B..b..Bullseye!" he said with admiration.

She turned to look at him for a moment, revealing her Byakugan and instantly the weaponsmith knew that whatever she might say, carried considerable credibility behind it. Oncvce that silent discussion had happened Rei began to pick out certain weapons and dropped them in a pile onto the floor. Overall, about a third of the shipment was in a messy pile on the floor. The weaponsmith didn't seem pleased at all with the mess, but he waited patiently for Rei to explain. Finally, she reached the bottom of the crate and turned to sit on its edge while she looked at the short man, wondering how large his anger could be compared to his physical size. "One third of your shipment was poorly crafted and some even made from the wrong metals. You may want to reconsider your arms dealers. That pile on the floor is junk." she would say and then leave the shop. Over her shoulder, she could hear the weaponsmith yelling in the employee room, the sound of crashing instead of clattering metal against metal. She felt bad for the man.
