Appearance: Zanto is relatively normal when it comes to appearances. Granted, he also has a few quirks that make him stand out. Starting off, he has a fairly average build. Slim, perhaps, would be a good description of it. No real muscle is visible on his body, but he looks pretty healthy aside from that. Normally what he wears is either his ninj uniform, or, if allowed, he will wear something much more comfortable. A t-shirt, jeans, and boogs come to his mind. His stature is not one to make note of, and his stance is usually rather lax.

Due to his youthful appearance, Zanto has no facial hair to really speak of. His skin is smooth and tanned, making him seem quite well-off in the health department. It's obvious he does his best to keep himself well. His hair is red-colored; its locks being rather straight for the most part, though, some parts of it stick out for one reason or another, giving him an almost goofy appearance to add to it. He doesn't really take care of it as much as he takes care of other things, causing it to look a bit wild or even quite messy at times.

Possibly the one thing that stands out about the youth are his eyes. One eye is deep blue, similar to an ocean wave. However, the other one is deep red, like blood on white snow. Heterachromia is obvious in this boy, and he doesn't bother to hide it whatsoever. Unknowingly to him though, the blue is his natural eye color and ths red is that of the Four Tails These eyes often have a curious gaze to them, as if they're always willing to learn. Often times, one can see them gazing side to side, trying to gain as much information as possible. One could even say they looked rather innocent.

Overall, his facial features are also nothing to speak of. A chiseled face, and an average. Puberty hasn't hit this one quite yet, it seems. Either way, his sstrong cheeks are often dusted with a darker color, perhaps because he's always moving around and active when he can be. Of course, being like that, he also gets quite sweaty and dirty at times. He'll wash when neccesary, however, and tries to do a good job with it. Sometimes, too much of a good job. Sometimes, he will have scabs that are caused by himself from scratching at himself or scrubbing too hard!

Personality: Zanto has a well-defined personality. He is not unstable. He is not mad like most of the Kiri Ninja are. He is a teen that has firm beliefs, and looks on the world through prism of his beliefs. He follows his beliefs with vigor, always wiling to go to great lengths for the sake of his goals and beliefs. He is not a perfect kid, but he tries to be the best he actually can. It is no easy task in these dark times of turmoil and war. Zanto is not easy to understand, and his behavior is not always backed up with clear reasoning.

What affects his views, thoughts, actions, philosophy and his general personality are following things: his love towards animals, the bijuu within his body believes in, strong need and love for battle and finally his taste for blood and fighting. Everything he does, thinks, every action he plans and takes, everything is heavily influenced by those things. Always will Zanto act according to what he thinks and believes.

He is calm, overall, but can get angered. Some things will anger him outright on very sight, like idiots and Shinobi of rival villages. But Zanto can hide, ignore and control his rage, as situation demands it. He knows better than to let it get the best of him. Also, anger control prevents him from being rash, and looking immature. Zanto knows very well that looking immature is bad for his image, which is very important to him. He tries to keep image of respected, calm, mature, wise Chuunin, potential leader of the village, as he knows that his goals might be a lot further away from their completion if he was not as he presents himself to the world.

Zanto is a stoic, disciplined kid, something which the village installed in him, and that trait will always remain with him. Breaking discipline, bending rules, that are all things that Zanto does not likes, but if there is a need great enough then he will justify or perform such actions. After all, the goal itself justifies the means. And if means are directly opposed to the rules, than the severity of situation decides whether rules or means will prevail. This concept is directly translated into actions, as far as Zanto’s actions are concerned.

But Zanto is also very open man, and very intelligent one. He can listen and take into consideration new concepts, new ideas, an any reasonable suggestions. But he tries not to break greatest taboos, for a man must draw a line somewhere. With his intelligence, Zanto will quickly analyze all that ideas, and see what is good, potentially usable, and what is useless. His intelligence is also useful in conversations with other people, since he will analyze their personalities based on their words. He can pick up subtle traits of other people and notice some of their flaws really quickly. This can be useful, but that is not a rule. Sometimes he can't read people at all. Sometimes, he can. It depends on the other person.

In dealing with others, Zanto tries really hard to be fair. But it is quite hard, since he looks at others trough prism of his doctrine and his beliefs. And of course, based on how they dress. Somebody who wears clothes Zanto deems unfashionable or ugly, they can expect colder reception. And vice-versa, naturally. Of course, ninja other than Kiri Ninja cannot hope to get anything except dislike, hatred and unprovoked attack. This is bad, but Zanto’s belief in Kiri supremacy is not a thing that can change. Weak ninja will generally get similar treatment, only without unprovoked attacking, because, after all, they are members of great human race.

Zanto , as already said, believes in doctrine of Kiri supremacy. He strives towards placing kiri race on top of the hierarchy of the great Ninja villages, and aims to eradicate and wipe out other villages if they ever try to hurt his people. For the sake of peace, he believes that they must be destroyed. As an extension of that doctrine, racism and xenophobia are strongly carved into Zanto’s personality. No ninja save for the Kiri ninja is seen as friendly, and that is quite a flaw, especially in the world as it is today. Zanto’s attitude and reaction to presence and existence of other, Ninja villages, is quite damaging. That is not what Zanto aims, or wills to change. He keeps his beliefs as they are, and strives to complete the goals that he set for himself, of which many are dictated by Kiri supremacy doctrine. His goal being to becoming one of the Great Ninja Swordsmen and someday the Mizukage of Kirigakure.

Aside from that, Zanto loves animals. He loves pets. He will adopt animals he sees abandoned, or just feed them and give somebody a task of getting animals a new home. He is very caring about animals. Especially about his pets, which he keeps quite a few. One white cat, one small bulldog, two hamsters, few tropical fishes, pigeon and parrot. With all of those animals sharing their life space with him, it is always interesting. Zanto adores his pets especially because there is not a single dull moment with all of them. He however, tends to be worrying too much about them, and in battles, quite a few times, he got hit because he stopped to wonder whether they are hungry or not. Zanto just likes his pets, and animals in general.

Battles are also integral and important part of his life and personality. Zanto seeks them out, savors them, enjoys in them. Battles are what he needs, what he cannot live without. Zanto won't seek battles out at any cost, but he will welcome any that actually find him first. His behavior in battle itself is rather simple. Fight and enjoy, of it is a battle that he wants. If not, if that particular battle is unwanted by Zanto, but still inevitable, he will aim to finish it as fast as possible, sacrificing his pleasure of fighting for the sake of ending it and not forcing himself to do what he does not want to.

Zanto is just a teen, though. Gentleman, perhaps. Racist towards other villages, certainly. Animal lover, even more certainly. He has firm beliefs. He has goals set high, yet all are possible with enough time and planning. He is The Great Scourge. He is Lucky Z. He is the future of Kirigakure.

Character History: The story of Zanto began before his birth at the village Hidden in the Mist - Kirigakure. It was about 18 years ago. Naoki's parents were both apart of a secret organization that wanted to hunt a tailed beast in order to make a ninja that would forever be a protector of Kirigakure, a which was rapidly gaining strength. For reasons unknown to the public nor to Naoki himself at the time, they rebelled and were cast out. What exactly transpired remains a mystery, but one is known. The transition was not seemless - father of the boy gave his life to help take out the Yonbi. However, his mother had become pregnant and the organization wanted to seal the tailed beast inside of her son. At the time, in the cold months of winter, a single renegade woman, pregnant, with hardly any clothes and no place to stay on a run did not seem like that much of a problem. And the organization pursued her, as everyone assumed she would almost meet her death in the blizzard, as well as that of her unborn child's. That however was not true. Showing exemplary motherly endurance the woman made it to a nearby village, where human compassion saved her. She was provided with enough to safely leave the country.

A couple months later, after she had fled to the Islands, the woman gave birth to Zanto. She tried to avoid unneeded attention, but the organization had finally found her. After holding the bijuu captive for months, the would kill his mother and send the bijuu within the body. Hiking him off to Kirigakure where they would secretly place him in a orphanage. Years went by as the tailed beast had finally raged. Nearly taking out the village as the boy had lost control over it. The ninja managed to stop the tailed beast, putting it back in its coma like state. Kirigakure didn’t know that the boy was a jinchuuriki and would make it their job to train the boy. Getting him ready for years to come. Unknowingly to him, he was bound for greatness as he didn’t know he possessed a tailed beast within his body. As he grew, he would come to admire the Seven Ninja Swordsmen along with the Mizukage as they held great respect in the village. He pledged to be like them one day.

Easily, he would overcome the ninja academy and now he is a Genin. Ready to start his journey to become one of the greatest ninja in the world.
