Name: Kozura Takami
Nickname: n/a
Age: 11
Gender: Female
Height: 4’5”
Weight: 70 lbs
Appearance: Kozura is a somewhat dimunutive girl, with dull, dark hair and a weathered face. Her build is slim, but wiry and surprisingly strong for someone of her age. She often appears sturdy from a distance, but shaky close up, due to the traditional substances that she takes from the desert. Her fingernails are a bit irregular and sometimes cracked from spending time outdoors doing work. Her bloodshot eyes (again, due the substances mentioned above) have the dark brown irises of the western desert folk. Yeah, all in all, she's not what someone would call pretty for a kid, but give it a few years and some rehab, and you never know.
The most distinctive feature of her face is that she's missing her left eye, as evidenced by the three jagged scars over the socket where the eye used to be. She keeps this covered by bandages, though this is more for practicality than shame. Scars won in battle don't really mean anything honorable in her tribe, but neither are they something to hide from others. Surprisingly, however, despite somewhat poor acclimiation to the city life, she still has all her teeth, and other than the missing eye, has no other deformities.
Village: Sunagakure
Character Rank: Genin
Character Tier: D-3
Clan: N/A
Element: N/A
Bijuu Roll: Sure, 5
Personality: Kozura is a survivor, but holds standards above all else. She has this great fear of compromising the morals and customs of the tribe that she came from, and sees herself as one of the last (if not the last) representatives of her culture. To this effect, she wears desert wear over her uniform, even if she's not in the desert, and often speaks her tribal tongue (though she can understand normal language and speak it fluently as well). She observes very strict prayer times, and physically chastises herself if she misses one. Many of these practices are seen as bizarre and impractical, but to her, they mean everything.
Well, almost everything. Because she was taken in, and her people's ways tolerated by the village, she has an almost fanatical devotion to Sunagakure as well. Indeed, this is a fine line to walk for her. As of yet, the priorities of her traditions and the mandates of the village haven't yet come into conflict, but if they do, she will have to make a rather difficult decision. Either way, her mindset is deeply rooted in discipline and respect, so if she ever needed help from her superiors, she had a good chance to get it.
Character History: Kozura was born in a tribe of western tribespeople on a Sunagakure-sanctioned reserve in the west of the region. They were a peaceful, nomadic hunting clan despite the harsh environment, and the constant intrusion of other tribes onto their territory. The only time they really called to arms was when those other tribes threatened to harm any of their own. Their retaliation was swift, but brief. After some time, it came to be known that if anyone bothered the Western Nomads, it was their own fault if anything happened to them. After all, the Western Nomads didn't cause any trouble to anyone else. What need was there to provoke them?
While within the tribe, Kozura didn't really stand out that much. The only thing that the venerable elders noticed that was off about her was that she had a bizarre tendency to be single mindedly focused on things. It could almost be called... obsessive, to a certain extent. This worried some of them, who thought that it might be cured by pairing her with the more relaxed folk in the tribe. This, of course, didn't work. Others thought it was a gift that merely had to be used in the right way, so they set her to more difficult tasks and watched smugly as she worked to complete them with great dedication.
Indeed, they were all correct. Kozura's great dedication led her to take greater action than others against foreign intrusions. Inadvertently to her, this started what seemed to the Sunagakure folk to be a minor squabble between some backwoods tribal folk in the reaches of the desert. To the Nomads, however, it was more like a full scale war, one that they were bound to lose by virtue of numbers alone. They realized that while Kozura had been a piece of their downfall, her mind, now turned solely to vengeance and fanatical devotion to the tribe, could be their last hope. The rituals they used on her to place their secrets within her had... limited success, but they did what they could and smuggled her away before the war destroyed them all.
Upon reaching Sunagakure, Kozura was taken in and allowed to practice within the walls of the village as one of its shinobi force members. This was a new and odd experience for her, and the ways of the city folk seemed stupid and disrespectful to her. However, the loyalty she gave to the village and her dedication to its progress and superiority could be matched by few others.
