| Familiar/Pet System!Familiars are animals that Ninja can take with them on their travels for use in either combat or for company. They come in various shapes and sizes with as diverse a skill range as any other ninja in the world. All ninja are able to obtain a familiar, though some might be more inclined to do so (e.g. Inuzuka). All PCs are only granted access to ONE Familiar per character. Exceptions to this rule being the Inuzuka and Aburame clans. Aburame get access to 3 colonies of their special beetles. Inuzuka get access to up to 3 canine familiars. If one wishes to obtain a Familiar they must purchase one. It also must be of equal or lesser tier to themselves. The prices for such are listed below. E-tier: 500 Ryo D-tier: 1,000 Ryo C-tier: 1,500 Ryo B-tier: 2,000 Ryo A-tier: 2,500 Ryo S-tier: 3,000 Ryo Each tier of familiar has access to different suitabilities and as such is able to learn different skills and elements as they progress through their lives. E-tier: No Element, 50 Chakra, 50 Stat Points D-tier: No Element, 100 Chakra, 75 Stat Points C-tier: One Element, 150 Chakra, 100 Stat Points B-tier: One Element, 200 Chakra, 150 Stat Points A-tier: Two Elements, 250 Chakra, 200 Stat Points S-tier: Three Elements, 300 Chakra, 300 Stat points Familiars share a similar skill point allocation to their master. That is listed below as well. E-tier | All Beginner | D-tier | 11 Beginner 3 Adept | C-tier | 9 Beginner 3 Adept 2 Expert | B-tier | 5 Beginner 5 Adept 3 Expert 1 Master | A-tier | 4 Beginner 3 Adept 3 Expert 3 Master 1 Grand Master | S-tier | 1 Beginner 3 Adept 4 Expert 3 Master 3 Grand Master |
Familiars do differ greatly in that ranking up cannot be purchased with Experience and only through training side by side with them. E-tier to D-tier: 10 posts D-tier to C-tier: 15 posts C-tier to B-tier: 20 posts B-tier to A-tier: 25 posts A-tier to S-tier: 30 posts If a familiar is killed, the ninja is then unable to use any collaboration jutsu that they shared, but the familiar can be replaced and the jutsu used again once training has been done for the new familiar. **NOTE**: Familiars cannot be creatures considered "Mythical", so no dragons, unicorns, trolls, phoenix or the like. **NOTE**: Familiars can have access to "limited" techniques/items, but any limited given to a familiar still comes out of it's owners 3 available slots. This goes for summoning slots as well. WIP - Spoiler:
Abarame Insect SystemUnlike most summons and familiars, the Abarame clan's insect colonies are unique since instead of controlling a single, powerful, animals, the Abarame co-ordinate swarms of hundreds of smaller, weaker, insects who work together to deal damage and inflict special effects as a group. This gives the Abarame more strategic options than most summon-users since they can split colonies into smaller groups to trap opponents and make dodging more difficult. In addition, unlike other familiars, Abarame insects almost always have eggs left behind, meaning even if a colony is wiped out the user will be able to re-gain their familiar after the thread is over. Also, due to the nature of their clan, Abarame can start with one colony for free equal to their starting rank (must still be approved). HOWEVER, unlike other summons, Abarame Insect Colonies are unable to learn Skills or Elements and can only be used for Jutsu specific to the insect type up to their current Tier in Rank. Which means an A Rank Parasitic Insect colony can only use Jutsu up to A Rank that lists 'Parasitic Insect', 'Flying Insect', 'Insect', or a similar term as a requirement. On top of that, the user must purchase and use the Jutsu listed below, "Chakra Signals", to give orders to their colony for ranged attacks. If this Jutsu is not active, the insects will instinctively return into their user's body. Name: Chakra Signals Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Element: None Range: Close-Long Description: The user's chakra is sent out in waves, mimicking pheromones that can silently command and communicate with the user's colonies of insects at a distance. This requires no hand signs and is impossible for an opponent to read without the ability to actually see Chakra through something like a Byakugan. Requires 10 Chakra of upkeep each turn. Insects return to the user if this technique is not in use. Requirements: Must belong to the Abarame clan. Stats also differ slightly for insect colonies due to their ability to separate into groups. Instead of Durability being a stat for determining how defensive a ninja or familiar is, for insect colonies, Durability dictates how many insects exist in the swarm, with each point of Durability adding 100 more insects. For example, an Insect Colony with 25 Durability would consist of 2,500 insects. This number can be split among different groups with specific stats splitting as well. Which means if the user has 100 Durability, they would have 10,000 insects, but they could also separate that into two groups with 50 Durability and 5,000 insects, each. This would also half the Strength and Stamina stats of each group. These stat changes and specifics are listed below:
-
Strength: Dependent on group size. Forming the colony into two groups halves this stat, four groups reduces it to one fourth, etc. The colony's Strength must be no less than 50 points below a target's Durability to effect them with abilities (like poison) or deal damage. Strength also determines the Tiers of Jutsu Swarms can be used for. 10 Strength: D Rank Jutsu 20 Strength: C Rank Jutsu 40 Strength: B Rank Jutsu 50 Strength: A Rank Jutsu 70 Strength: S Rank Jutsu
Speed: Independent of the group size, determines how fast swarms fly as normal.
Durability: Can be reduced to attack with multiple swarms of the same colony. Each point of Durability equals 100 insects in the swarm. Swarms are highly resistant to Bukijutsu, Shurikenjutsu, and Taijutsu attacks and techniques since a person can only hit one or two insects at a time. But Jutsu that deal damage based on Rank or Jutsu Power can destroy mass numbers of insects at once. This can be boosted with Combination Jutsu following their own rules of using the primary element's rank plus the secondary element's rank to determine the power. D: Destroy 100 insects (lose 1 Durability) C: Destroy 500 insects (lose 5 Durability) B: Destroy 2,000 insects (lose 20 Durability) A: Destroy 3,500 insects (lose 35 Durability) S: Destroy 5,000 insects (lose 50 Durability) Losing insects this way will also reduce the Strength and Stamina stats of the swarm. Because of this, it's advised to keep the Colony's Strength, Durability, and Stamina (if it's relied on) in equal numbers to make things easy to keep track of without having to rely on math to deal with uneven numbers.
Stamina: Dependent on group size, having the colony halves their Stamina and Chakra pool since a colony's chakra production and total is based off of every bit of chakra the entire group can gather and store at once. Stamina cannot go below 1 by any means and Insects can be used for Jutsu using the user's Chakra Pool instead if the user knows the Jutsu instead of the insects. This means that relying on only 1 point of Stamina and simply using the user's Chakra is a completely viable option.
Perception: Independent of the group size, but ultimately a useless stat since it's difficult to cast genjutsu on such a large group at once while they're being directly controlled. Additionally, since the insects are being controlled, the user's perception is all that ultimately matters.

All colony stats can go above 100. Balance uses between all three colonies to create powerful and versatile setups that can catch up to and overwhelm your opponents!
