Mission Thread 1

Missions [in order]:

Bet was walking through the village, it was a normal day for him. Well, normal in that he was bored out of his mind and had nothing better to do with his time. He had just finished his morning training and had already eaten breakfast when he heard yelling and a commotion coming from a street over. Being the naturally curious child that he is, he immediately rushed to investigate. He was almost bowled over by a kid running away carrying a bag. But, Bet's training kicked in and he was able to move out of the boy's path before they had a collision. It was only after the by rounded another corner and vanished from sight that the store owner came around, panting and out of breath. "catch that punk! he stole from my shop!" Was all he could say, but Bet jumped on the opportunity to ease his boredom for the day. Rushing to where he had lest seen the boy run, it was child's play to catch up to him and tackle him to the ground, removing the stolen items from his possession and knocking him unconscious. Bet would then bring both the stolen items and the thief back to the store owner for justice. After accepting his rewards, he would be on his way.

It was then that Bet passed by the scene of an accident on one of the local construction sites. The site was one of the main ones erected in response to the attack on the village some time ago that led to the death of the Shodai Hokage. Bet decided to be a good Samaritan and help the crew out with the clean up as most of them appeared to be average civilians. Lifting a few steel beams and heavy boulders, he was able to get their machinery free of the debris rather quickly, but supposedly a few of the workers had been trapped underground by a cave in of a basement in their work zone. So, he spent quite some time carefully digging them out. It was slow work, trying to make sure he wasn't the next victim of a cave in, and making sure that the men didn't get hurt by his moving of the rocks and things blocking them in. After several hours, though, they were out and about and ready to get back to work. It would seem that the young Genin had saved the day after all. Looking around, he figured it was time to head on out to his next destination.

When he arrived at the academy, he was surprised to find it in another ruckus, similar to how he left the market district. It would seem two new genin were having a bout of fisticuffs over some minor squabble. He would normally have just let them be, but he had been hired by their parents to break them up and explain why fighting like that wasn't good for them. So, he appeared in between them, catching both of their fists and throwing them to the ground in one spinning motion. "Look, fighting is a fun thing to do, but only when it is the time for fighting and you have a reason to fight. Neither of you are gaining anything from fighting for nothing at a time when fighting isn't allowed. So, cut it out!" With that, he would pat them both on the backs and walk away. It was odd that he was only slightly older than both of them, and yet he had been tasked with sorting out their troubles. It was also odd to him that he had to break up a fight and explain why fighting is bad, considering he loved fighting in all its forms.

Hi next destination put him at the training grounds where a young genin was training with a bokken. His job was to spar with the boy and help him improve his style. The issue here was that Bet wasn't overly skilled with weapons, so the boy would likely do a lot better against him than against someone of a higher caliber. This was proven to be true as the moment the fight started, Bet was put into the defensive, trying his best to block the strikes as they came quickly and from varying angles. It was during this sparring match that bet decided he should probably improve his own skills at swordplay before long because it was obviously a useful skill, but he did prefer to use his own fists, he just enjoyed the feeling of his fists planting themselves in his opponents faces or wherever he chose to hit, it was just something else entirely. By the time the match was over, Bet had a few bruises, as did his opponent. They would bow to each other and then put up their equipment. It had been a good battle, but his opponent had won out in the end. But it had given Bet a lot to think about.

Walking into the food court of the Academy, he would scan through the students. It was obvious that the lunch bell had just rung and they were all preparing to eat their mid day meal. He looked around, acting casual, but maintaining a steady strafing motion. He was on the lookout for anything out of the ordinary. His task was to find a food thief. He would pull the mission dossier back out and look it over. "Someone is stealing food inside of the academy. While the sensei's could solve the issue immediately, they instead wish to use it as a training exercise for anyone interested. Catch the culprit and you win the prize! Careful, whoever is doing it is supposedly really good at being sneaky!" Yep, this was the job for him. Looking around, he finally caught something strange happening. Across the courtyard, he saw a boy reaching behind a girl's back and into her lunch bag as she talked with one of her friends. Using his Zanzoken, Bet would appear right next to the boy. "Stealing isn't very nice you know" Is all he would say, before he picked the boy up and carried him, kicking and screaming to the head administrators office to have his punishment dealt.
