Location: Any Main Village Rank: A Team: Optional Client: Kage Rewards: 800 EXP and 2000 RYO Description: The Kage has tasked you with escorting and protecting a village area through the land of fire to handle some business outside of the village. But due to some unhappy business partners the Elders life may be in Danger. It is your job to fight off and fend the danger of two A Rank rouge ninja and succesfully help the elder arrive at his meeting safely.

Roku laughed. He had taken yet another A-Rank mission from Konohagakure. At this point, Roku, he who could no longer be called a boy, despite being age fourteen, felt more like a Konohagakure Ninja that a Kumogakure one. True, he never spent much time in Kumogakure as a ninja, only about three months, but it was his home. And still, Roku felt more at home in Konohagakure than he ever did in Kumo. Was it because his life in Kumo was forced? He was forced to have that ghastly demeanor he used to have, forced to stay with The Lord, almost forced to be a ninja by his parents the one and only time he’d met them. In fact, leaving Kumo was the only choice he had ever made for himself. Have I become… Roku of the Hidden Leaf?

The Adventures of a Troubled Boy
Roku was put in charge of a mission that really didn’t seem like something that someone in their right mind would give an outsider. Have they begun to see me as Roku Enzoka of the Hidden Leaf? Roku was nearly in an existential crisis. Who am I? It was a hard question to answer. On the one hand, he had already identified himself as Roku Enzoka of No Land. He was born as Roku Enzoka of the Hidden Cloud. He acted Like Roku Enzoka of the Hidden Leaf. Was he betraying the Hidden Cloud by taking missions for the Hidden Leaf? He needed to funds. In the end, this was all to take out Black Sun. Helping a rival village in the process, in order to gain the funds he needed, was a necessary evil. Still Roku felt unsettled by it.

The village elder that Roku was supposed to be protecting scoffed at him as they exited the village, the man in his cart, Roku walking alongside it. “I can’t believe they gave me Kumogakure rabble like you. The least they could have done was give me a Konohagakure Genin, at least he’d be worth his weight.” Roku could not help but to laugh. It was hilarious. Roku was the strongest person currently in the Land of Fire other than Rei Hyuuga. “Cmon old man, it’s unfortunate, but I could probably take out any of your Konohagakure Ninja other than the Hokage herself. I’m the best protection you could be given today. Honestly, you’re really below my paygrade. I could do better.” This infuriated the old man, and it looked like his face had been painted red. [i]That’s right old man, get angry. Don’t taunt me.[i/]

But from there, he remained quiet. Does he believe me, or does he just want to avoid an altercation? I guess it doesn’t matter, I couldn’t fight him. I’m sorta getting paid to do the exact opposite of that here. His train of thought, however, was cut off. Two men, neither of whom said a word, who were completely undetectable by Roku, struck at once. One struck at Roku, probably to distract him, while the other went for the village elder Roku was supposed to be protecting. They were fast, but Roku, as always was faster. The man who went after Roku was slightly faster than the other, but that worked to their disadvantage, as Roku flared Chakra Blitz for strength, caught the man going after him fully, and threw him at the man going for the elder, sending them both flying into the distance. Roku turned and smacked the rear of the horse pulling the elder’s carriage to send it galloping away to get the old bafoon out of danger.

Immediately, before he was even set, a massive blast of fire and a water dragon were both hurdling toward Roku. Cursing his lack of Ninjutsu, Roku flipped to Speed Blitz, and sprinted forward, causing the arcing trajectory of the two projectiles to miss him. But the onslaught wasn’t over. Roku had to immediately flip to Strength Blitz and leap off of the ground with all his power, then to Durability Blitz to crash directly through a massive boulder hurled by an Earth Release Ninjutsu, and back to speed after he landed to clear the distance. He had to cut through one more Fire Release technique with Tamashikami, but switched to Naegling to make his killing blows.

He lopped off both heads, and both were Shadow Clones. Roku then spotted both his attackers making way toward the fleeing old dude, and switching to high gear, Roku sped after them. He was so much faster than them, that to the enemies, he disappeared and reappeared in front of them, but in reality Roku had switched to Strength Blitz to leap over another onslaught of Ninjutsu, to Durability to land, and back to Speed Blitz to get in front of them. Roku simply said “boo!” before neither of them had heads any longer. He sheathed Naegling, and moved the bodies to the side of the road, using a low ranked Fire Ninjutsu to set the bodies ablaze. Why did people think it was a good idea to attack him? Cmon, really.

Roku turned and ran after the caravan. When he caught up to the caravan Roku simply looked at the man with a smirk. “See?” The man looked away in fear, awe, and disgust, all at the same time, and Roku was rather awed by the impressive mix of emotions he saw in the elder’s eyes. He respected that. Laughing inwardly at himself, Roku walked alongside the carriage for a few hours until the duo had arrived at their destination. The elder thanked Roku, much more humbled now, and even bowed. He paid Roku, and Roku stuck around for a bit to make sure no one had been training them. Sure the coast was clear, Roku headed back to Konohagakure, ready for some sleep and a good stead. Or even two. He was hungry.
