Hunt Mysterious Onyx (P. Mission)

Yet another high-risk mission. Only a few weeks ago, Roku was barely capable of doing minor chores for missions, and now, all he did were missions that required the utmost combat and tactical prowess. Roku had become a genius at taking on singular targets. Few people could match his physical prowess and maneuverability, and even those that could, failed to match his skills in Ninjutsu and Fuuinjutsu. Roku was slowly but surely becoming a God amongst men, and that scared him. Not so much because he was becoming so powerful, but because he KNEW he was becoming so powerful, and he enjoyed it. He did not NEED this power. Had he stayed home, he would have been mostly safe, protected by the also godly Raikage – but he didn’t. He chose to travel and train. He had become a person of legendary power. All that power, however, was so unnecessary that he rarely even used it – for a person to be so powerful and no one know was a sign of its uselessness.

Today’s mission was a bounty hunting mission. Unfortunate, it was an alive capture that was required, so Roku would be using Tamashikami today. What he knew of his target was that she looked more or less like a hooker, and went by the name “Mysterious Onyx.” Roku glanced down at the sketch he was given by the Konohagakure Ninja council that had asked him to perform the mission. They had become far too comfortable with asking him to perform missions and with giving him information, and it was laughable how easily Roku, at this point, could dismantle all of Konohagakure – in fact, he wondered if some day, Lord Raikage would ask him to. He’d of course have to oblige – he was a ninja, and even though he’d left Kumogakure, he was loyal to the village. Even if not necessarily to the Raikage himself.

Mysterious Onyx had been sighted in the slummy areas of Konohagakure, the places that the high ranking Jounin and Hokage loathed to admit existed. But they did. And they were run by a lot of street gangs, most often crooked Genin and Chuunin ninja, or even people that failed to even pass the academy – the bottom of the food chain. Roku could probably take on every bad guy in the area at once and leave them all alive – but that did not matter. He didn’t work for free. Roku sighed. It was time to get to work. He took a turn that would lead him to said areas, the darkest places of the village, ready to do what he was paid to do – bounty hunter work.

In the first place, Roku had no luck. As he asked around, the owner of the bar got rather rude, using many words that did not befit the class of a business man to really explain to Roku why his kind, the kind with the headbands, were not welcome. Roku could have snapped his neck, but he rarely resorted to such violence – he protected human life as a general rule, and violence that was not to protect himself or someone else was needless. So he simply left so as not to lose his temper. Roku visited many other places in the coming few hours, until finally he stumbled upon a brothel, where one of its patrons, for the right price, was willing to talk. There was a woman here who had just recently started and had matched the description of Roku’s sketch. She was out for her nightly… activities, at the moment, so Roku had time to plan his move.

Roku slipped into the woman’s room, analyzing it at first. It was a small room, only about fifteen by fifteen feet, but it was enough for a bed, a desk, a clothing dresser, and a sink, all of which it had. There was a single small window, and this room looked almost more like a prison than anything else. What Roku did next was simple – he removed the faucet of the sink and rigged it so that a sedative would release when the woman turned the water on. It was a slow release sedative that mixed with the water in the faucet, so in case the woman’s first use of the water was not to drink, there would be no worries. Roku carefully put the sink back together and crept around the room, looking for evidence that he had been there. Satisfied there was none, Roku exited the room.

The next step to Roku’s plan was perhaps a bit unnecessary. Roku transformed into a middle aged, big bellied, balding man. He went to the woman who seemed to run the brothel and asked her about her… “products.” Apparently, there were a few different types of women that he could choose from, and the women with rooms in the same area as Mysterious Onyx were… for lack of a better term, “high end.” Roku went to the room next to Mysterious Onyx and asked her her price. It was high – but Roku paid it. It was nothing to him. When Roku and the woman, she called herself scarlet, got into the room, she began to take her clothes off. Loathingly, Roku asked her not to and asked her to simply talk instead. He asked her about her life, and how she got to where she was. Heartbroken at the tragic story Roku was given, he gave her a large sum of ryo – the equivalent to what he would earn in this mission. It’d be enough for her to buy clothes and food and get a place to live for two to three months. Roku made her promise that she’d leave the brothel, but she felt it would be dangerous to leave and asked for his help. Of course, he promised her he would.

It was then that Roku heard it. He heard water running next door and loud, symptomatic snoring. Roku transformed back into his normal self and Scarlet was shocked that she had been completely prepared to have sex with a fourteen year old kid. “I’m not as young as I look hun. I’ve seen things you could only dream of. Anyway, I’ll be back in a sec.” Roku walked into Mysterious Onyx’s room and picked her up slinging her over his shoulders. He beckoned for Scarlet to follow, and of course she did. Two thugs tried to stop Roku but he punched them both squarely in the face, knocking them out. They were, perhaps, academy student level combatants. Nothing to Roku. Roku had completed his contract and helped a trafficked prostitute change her life. He felt accomplished.
