Clan History:
They originated from a long-forgotten version of the clan that existed in a time where birds were sacred and worshiped. As time went on they began to study the birds; When ninshu was invented the clan began to practice it in hopes of becoming closer to their deity. One of the young members at the time went on a voyage into the mountains where he met with a giant bird. The young man feared that it might be a tailed beast but the brahminy transformed into a humanoid form and convinced him otherwise. Garuda, the bird, had been watching the clan for some time and challenged the man to a duel. Should he win he would be granted an incredible power; The man failed but was still rewarded for his strength and bravery. Many after the man attempted to fight the bird but none were successful. Some decided to gang up on it and take its power causing Garuda to go into hiding; only revealing itself to those worthy.

Only one half of the clan has the ability to develop the kekkei genkai, out of that half one fourth get the kkg. Members born with the bloodline have expectations set high for them, although not all become ninja as many are quite entrepreneurial and business savvy. Because of their visual qualities and habits, there is always tension between the village and the clan that has boiled over into protests and internal conflicts regarding stealing and child snatching.

Families who are in circumstances too poor to raise a child sometimes arrange for the Karura to adopt them as the child is guaranteed to be raised by a caring mother. The members without the kekkei genkai run a news delivery service, as well as an orphanage for the kids whom they do not adopt personally themselves.

Those Karura who cannot control their negative avian instincts are banished from the village.

Clan Appearance: Those with the KKG have a mane of white feathers instead of hair, other members are normal.
