Clan History: The clan has always been rather offset from the world.  The Yakurai clan is what could have been considered a clan of barbarians, as the most powerful always garnered the most respect, and thus authority as a part of the clan.  Having been so powerful, the clan prospered, becoming one of the most populated clans in the world, and it came to fruition that many powerful members of the clan existed.  Each wanted power and the leadership of the clan, and each fought for it.  Their battles went on for many days and nights, each gathering more and more support, until each warrior exhausted themselves completely – many died, but over a dozen survived.  They split off, going their separate ways, each becoming a different tribe within the clan.

For years, the tribes fought.  Bloody battle after bloody battle.  They fought not only within the clan, but they fought other Samurai, and even ninja as well.  Their numbers dwindled, more and more, until they were a small group of less than 100.  The leadership of each tribe got together and decided that each tribe enter their best warrior in a battle royal, and the leader of the tribe from which the victor came would gain control of the clan as a whole.  This happened about five years ago.  Every year since, the tribes have repeated the process, and each time, 11 of their precious populace disappeared.  This, so far, has caused a practice and outlook where the honor of a family becomes just as much placed on their power as the amount of children they can produce.  Because of this opinion spreading, in only five years, each family has averaged the birth of at least three children.  Women who come from families that produce twins and triplets have become the most attractive, and men who come from strong fathers and are strong themselves have likewise.  The most attractive woman in the clan is considered to be a woman who has birthed 5 times in 5 years and had triplets each time.

Clan Appearance:  The members of this clan tend to have lean, strong bodies.  Rarely are they bulky, as it has become a clan practice to strengthen fast-twitch fibers more often than raw strength, and focus more on speed and power than strength and power.  Still, some sects of the clan focus more on raw strength as per their spirit weapon requirements.  They tend to be dark-haired, and look rather refined, despite their barbaric culture.
Clan Location: Shimogakure.  Those who leave without the clan leader’s permission are often hunted, but it ultimately depends on the whim of the clan leader.
Clan's Reputation: They are rather famous among Samurai as one of the few elite Samurai clans, but they are also feared as they are known to be quick to resort to war.
