| The sun was beating down, as it always did in Sunagakure. In the midst of everyone running their daily routines, moving from one place to the next, there was one particular person standing under an oddly shaped tree twiddling her thumbs. Today had been the day that Chantelle had finally been assigned a team, albeit ranking higher than the two, and she was somewhat anxious. She was never one to work well with groups due to the fact that she liked doing things her own way but perhaps this was the change of pace she needed in her life. It had been years since she had left the academy and ever since then she was without a team. Why was she without one for so long? Who knew? Maybe she was lost in the system or some other unforeseen event. But that didn’t matter anymore, now that she was assigned a team she would one step closer to her dream of entering the chunin exams. “I hope they get here soon.” She had gotten the name of her would be teammates from a Jonin and had invited them to the training grounds so they could get to know each other’s strength and weakness. | |

| Jei was an odd chap. He, if one went off strength, should roughly be a chunnin. He was a monster of physical genetics. He knew this. He knew this because whenever people tried to bully him, his massive height saved him from otherwise having to deal with them, as their hits didn't effect him. In the slightest. He was 13 and in the academy, yes, but no one really paid attention to that half. He was told to, like, go to some training grounds. Ugh.
The tall academy student had been napping when he was told this, so he was slightly grumpy. He was less grumpy when he was given candy which he promptly stuck in his mouth and started walking towards the place. He would end up getting there shortly after he started off, and simply put, he was already tired when he got there.
When arriving there, he saw a woman who was nearly a foot shorter than him.
"Are you...like, that one lady?"
He didn't quite remember the name.
He wasn't wearing a shirt, he never did. He wore black pants and some shoes.
His body was insanely built for an academy student, and his face wore a frown.
"What'd you want? Give me candy." | |

| Kona was a little confused as to why she was being sent to the Training Grounds...well, it was rather that it was the Training Grounds that was more reserved for stronger Shinobi like Genin or Chunin, since the Academy Students had their own fenced-in section to exercise and train. Her teacher said it was important, but she was pretty sure he just wanted to be rid of her for the day so she would stop badgering him about learning better Taijutsu techniques.
This irritated Kona a bit, as she was out there day and night kicking and punching, running, squats...doing sit-ups and push-ups and chin-ups all the other kinds of ups she was told to do...and she didn't feel like she was getting anywhere. She was even making sure to eat healthier than she usually did...although not by much, but when you have to swipe your food, you kinda have to grab stuff that you can get away with easily and not waste the food, and it just turns out that snack food tends to be bagged. That wasn't her fault at all.
Still, at least she wouldn't have her training time cut down this way, and it might even be better now without all the other whiny snot-faced kids in her class trying to bother her. Maybe she'll even meet up with someone who will actually teach her something useful, like how to punch through steel, or how to kick faster than the human eye can track.
You know, actual useful things.
Like things that aren't math.
Kona sighed and put her hands behind her neck, and her previous train of thought reminded her that she actually WAS supposed to meet someone at the Training Grounds for some reason...OH!
"Meet someone?!" Kona gasped excitedly. "Maybe it's a Chunin, or even better, a Jounin! Someone really cool who has mastered a style of Taijutsu like 'The Furious Fist' or 'The Deathly Blow!' Then I'll be able to learn a few things from them, and then I'll DEFINITELY pass that stupid academy exam and start on my way to being the strongest Taijutsu Master and Kunoichi in the world!" This jump-started her intrigue of the situation, and she challenged herself to not stop running until she made it to the training grounds, and if she did stop before then she would have to then immediately start learning the most difficult technique her new sensei could teach her...no matter how tired she might be when she gets there!
...And she was off!
--- --- ---
Kona did make her way to the Training Grounds, but sadly she had to stop twice along the way: once because she had to help some dumb kid get his ball back from out of a tree, and the other time was because she nearly blacked out one-fourth of a mile away from her destination. Frankly, she was very lucky that some Genin were on their way back from the training grounds, or else she may have died from heatstroke...although the only thing that got that was remotely a thank you was her shouting at them not to touch her and 'to get the hell away from her because she didn't need their help.'
After that it didn't take long for her to reach the training grounds, but she was rather winded when she got there, and it caused her to have a minor coughing fit before she regained her breathe after a moment at standing rest. She then looked around and noticed some really tall guy with purple hair and no shirt who was talking to some girl with weird and silly earrings. Neither of them were clearly who she was supposed to be meeting with, so instead of bothering herself to talk to them, she just walked by and began striking one of the wooden pillars in the training ground.
She hoped she wouldn't have to wait too long for this person to come train her. | |

| Her bright blue eyes would eagerly scan the vicinity for her teammates, she would notice a very odd looking individual roaming around the training grounds. It was bad enough that he was freakishly tall but he didn’t have a shirt on either, why? Only God knows. Deciding to not dwell on that odd person she would continue to keep her eyes peeled for her teammates, that was until the person had approached her. “That one lady? What do you mean?” Confused and a bit intimidated by the sheer size of the man she would take a step back and rubbed the back of her neck nervously. Why would he ask if she was that lady? What lady? And then it had dawned on her. “Wait a minute… Are you Jei?” Chantelle muttered in shock. There was no way this person could be thirteen, he looked older than her! Dipping into her pocket and pulled out the picture of the two academy students that the lady had given her. “Wow, it really is you…” She said in awe as was at a complete loss for words. “Umm... Here?” She would hand him a piece of candy that she had in her pocket, she wasn’t sure if he liked that flavor but hopefully, he did. She didn’t want him to start crying or something.
While the kid was busy with the candy she had given him, she would notice that the other member of her team to be was busy striking a couple of wooden pillars a few feet away from them. Signaling to Jei to follow her, she would make her way over to Kona. “Hi Kona. We’ve been waiting on you.” She said with a smile waiting on Kona to stop what she was doing before continuing.
“Well, I guess I should start explaining. My name is Chantelle Kennicot. I’m a Genin and you guys will be a part of my team once you guys pass the academy exam. I thought that this meeting would be good chance to learn about each other’s strengths and weaknesses and also get to know each other. We’ll be together for quite some time so hopefully, we can get along!” Her bright blue eyes would look to both the academy students to judge their reactions before continuing. “So I guess I’ll start. As I said my name is Chantelle and I'd say that I’m pretty adept at medical ninjutsu, taijutsu and ninjutsu and in the future, I want to be a medical ninja.” | |

| Jei was unimpressed. That was, until, he was given candy. He was utterly won over. He stuck the candy in his mouth, not even unwrapping it. He stood there, peacefully, like a small child would when given candy. He listened as the lady talked. Chante. That was her new name. Her name was too long for him to want to say constantly.
"Thanks Chante~" He spoke after being given the candy. Candy was nice. Candy was always nice because candy was good and candy was good because it was yummy. That was just how things were, in Jei's head. He wasn't actually paying attention to the small child that walked in that was apparently supposed to be his teammate??? Too small. Both of them were small. The new child was too small. Too small, Jei might squish. This is not the goal...he thinks? Maybe goal is to squish both?
He pondered half-assed thoughts as he ate his candy and the nice candy-lady addressed the small one. The candy lady talked long words and went on and on. Ugh, if this lady hadn't given him candy, he wouldn't care about her and what she said. He figured that he should go next, as the strikey lady was being strikey over there.
"Me strong."
He walked over to the wall and effectively shoved his fist through it with a certainly high level of force. He looked over at Chante.
"See~ Strongest there is~"
It then made him realize something. He was probably supposed to tell why he wanted to become a ninja.
"Iam gon be ninja because I want more candy."
He was too lazy to speak his sentences like a normal human being. He wanted to nap, but his arm was currently in a wall. Did he really feel like pulling his arm out of the wall?
Not particularly, so he didn't. He just kinda stood there with his arm, in the wall. | |

| Kona really couldn't care less about whoever those people were or what they were talking about: it had nothing to do with her training, and she was already behind by roughly ten minutes or so due to talking with her teacher at the academy. She was almost fifty punches in when the girl walked up to her and said something about waiting for her. This girl also knew her name, which Kona thought was weird, but she pretty much just let it go without questioning it and continued to punch the wooden pillar in front of her.
She got to sixty when the girl started speaking up again. She introduced herself, her name was 'Can't tell Ken got' or something like that. Apparently she was a Genin, and she was supposed to be her...
... ... ... TEAMMATE?!
This stopped Kona mid-punch, and shock covered her face. Teammate? But that means she would have to graduate first, and her teachers did nothing but yell at her or look disappointed in her for the past four years. She knew she would graduate eventually because she was working herself to the bone to do so, but she didn't believe it would be this soon. Maybe the teachers were hiding her actual results and she was doing really well and they just didn't want her to slack off? Pssh, like she would ever do that. You can't be or stay the best by slacking, so that didn't make sense to her at all, but she also wasn't a teacher so...you know, whatever.
Apparently she said something about weakness and strengths and getting along or something, but by the time she was done talking Kona had forgotten what number of strikes she was at.
"Dammit, now I have to start all over." and so she did, and she got up to fifteen punches before the girl started talking again. She repeated her name and mentioned she's good at Taijutsu and Ninjutsu and really good at Medical Ninjutsu, and she wanted to be a medical ninja. Kona only knew two things about Medical Ninjutsu: that it healed people, and that it wasn't easy to do. Kona wasn't able to perform any Ninjutsu at all, and since Ninjutsu seemed to be that difficult, she could only imagine how difficult Medical Ninjutsu was. Maybe this girl wasn't as weak as she thought.
She would have to challenge her sometime. In fact, she was thinking about having that time be now, but the giant interrupted her thoughts and her training. The first thing he said was that he was strong, although it was clear he wasn't referring to his grammar by the way he stated it. Apparently just in case there was confusion about what he meant, he...shoved his hand through a wall?! Was this guy even human? And on top of that, what was she doing wrong as to not be of that level of strength with all the training she had been doing?
"See~ Strongest there is~"
It was then that Kona stopping practicing against the wooden pillar and slowly turned around. She had a look of an intense fire in her eyes and a devilish grin on her face.
"Oh yeah?! Well then listen up, you lanky-ass weirdo! I'm Kona, and I may only be an academy student at the moment, but don't let that fool ya! My strength is that I am an amazing Taijutsu specialist and just generally awesome, and I don't have any weaknesses, unless you count intimidating and outshining everyone else to be a weakness. One day I'm going to master all kinds of Taijutsu and become the strongest Kunoichi in the world without using anything than the body I was born with! And..." Kona slammed down her left foot and pointed at the giant guy with purple hair
"I'm going to use you as my first stepping stone to get there! You speak awful highly of yourself to call yourself the strongest, Imma knock you down a peg or two, Purple Hair! Prepare yourself for a beatdown!"
Kona then got down into a fighting pose, which consisted of her spreading out out both legs a moderate distance apart and placing one fight slightly in front of the other, and doing the same with her arms and balling up her fists. Not long after she did that, she ran at the giant freak and attempted to jump up and kick him in the right side of his face. | |

| To say that she was shocked when the thirteen-year-old boy had managed to completely shove his fist through a wall was an understatement. Not only that, his reason for being a ninja had also managed to cause her to think. Did he have some sort of mental handicap? Or was it one of those rare instances that his physical growth accelerated beyond his mental capacity? Whatever it was she decided it was best that she kept on his good side and try not to anger him as she didn’t want to die before accomplishing her dreams. “Very impressive, Jei you really are strong.” She said with a smile before handing him another piece of candy, seems like most of her earning would be going towards candy for Jei.
“Umm... Kona-chan I don’t think picking a fight with him would be wise…” Chantelle said nervously while trying to stop the young girl from getting killed. She understood that having confidence was something that was beneficial to every human being but it was obvious that she was no match for the monster that was Jei and she didn’t know any medical ninjutsu that could bring her back from the dead. “How about we see who’s the strongest some other way that doesn’t involve fighting? Like umm… umm” In truth, she didn’t know any other way they could settle this but she really didn’t want to see Kono get hurt. If they persisted with going through with the fight, Chantelle would simply step back and hoped for the best as there was no way she was going to get involved.

| Jei had been paying all the attention to the small child he could. However, candy lady was handing out more candy and that was very important. It ranked higher on the list of things Jei cared about. Much higher than small lady. Jei has a stupid smile on his face when he was complimented. Jei was a happy child. It took Jei a solid moment to realize that the smallest child was picking a fight. He deigned this was the time to pull his arm out of the wall with some level of speed. It wasn't fast, but it was fast enough.
He'd use his massive arm, as he got hit, to spike the small child out of the air. It was like the small child was a volleyball and Jei was smashing it over the net. If the small child managed to dodge this, he'd be unimpressed still because candy lady giving him candy was much more important. However, he can't just not hit back even if the small lady didn't hurt him.
He did significantly hold back, as candy lady seemed real worried about small lady. If the hit connected, it wouldn't do more then shatter some ribs. It would not be the death of the small child and that was the goal.
"Illholback i swear."
He would not initiate a second attack after this, as there wasn't a point. If it had connected, she was done, and if it hadn't, he was still immensely lazy.
"You should buy cranberry candy or something like that next time. stuff's good."
He was willing to sentence for candy though. | |

| Better decisions had been made by better people, but neither of those things described Kona. Normally, one would not challenge someone with vastly superior strength to anything that was a form of testing said physical strength...but that was exactly why she did it. Sure, he just plowed his hand through a wall with a bit of effort, but he did have to put in a bit of effort, so his claim to be the strongest was garbage as far as Kona was concerned: if he WAS the strongest, he should have been able to like, pick up a house or something else just as heavy, without breaking a sweat.
So that's why Kona challenged him...well, that was half of it. The other half was that she really was itching to fight pretty much the past three days. Sadly, none of the other academy kids felt like losing to her, so she had no one to fight against for that amount of time. This guy was also clearly stronger than any of those wimps at the academy...considerably so in fact. The honest truth would be that this guy got her already itching urge to surge even more intensely and his comment got her blood boiling, so there was literally no other choice but to fight him.
Now Kona did successfully kick the giant man's face, make no mistake about that, as her the bottom of her black little shoes struck his right cheek...but he seemed very...well, he didn't care at all. Kona found this strange, but what was more important was that the hand that was previously stuck in a wall was coming down in an arc that would squish her like a big bug. Some may have though the best idea would be to roll backwards once hitting the ground, but they also would likely have been squished before they even started the roll. Kona had a better idea...
Before landing, she attempted to push herself off part of his body, and this attempt succeeded as she pushed her feet against his massive right thigh. This propelled her to the left as she landed, and she somewhat naturally formed her momentum into a roll: it was rough, but she finished on her feet.
She looked up in time to see the purple-haired giant slam his hand down and saw the earth crack open and let out what sorta sounded like a bit of a groan. Boy, was she glad she wasn't still there, but this guy really didn't move very fast. For his size you would think he could, but maybe all he got out of that body was raw power? Either that or he wasn't taking her seriously, and the thought of that ticked her off.
That was when she remembered that he even mentioned he would hold back against her, and then she really WAS ticked off. Anything the other girl may have said was lost.
"Don't be so full of yourself, you weird-haired giant! I'm totally going to take you down!"
She then dashed at him and attempted a jumping kick that if it was successful, would connect with just the toe of her shoe straight to his nose. | |

| Chantelle couldn’t help but sigh. This wasn’t how she envisioned her meeting with her future teammates to go. She thought they would’ve been able to just general discussion about their likes, dislikes and what they wanted to achieve in the future. Instead, it turned out to be a fight, a fight that seemed rather one-sided on paper as a matter of fact unless the young girl had some sort of hidden power. “Jei-kun, please don’t hurt her…. I’d rather she be left intact so don’t break any bones” Chantelle pleaded as she made a mental note of his favorite type of candy. She never heard of cranberry flavored candy before but she would make it her duty to find some for him. With that said she simply just stood there watching the two go at it. Kona was pretty good at hand to hand combat for someone her age but again, she was no match for the mammoth of a child that was Jei. Still, she would keep her eyes peeled for an attempt to intervene if necessary and luckily for them she did have some medical supplies with her so if they needed some basic treatment she would be able to do so.

| "I will cause I'm the strongest~"
Jei just kinda stood there and watched her take flight and got himself ready to flick the small child away. He wasn't about to have this. Once she made contact, he moved his hand forward to flick the small child away, only using roughly 30 strength in relation to his full strength. He had enough of all this kicking. He aimed his flick towards the chest of the small child, as it was more center and less brain hurty then hurting the brain.
That was his logic anyhow. If it were solid logic was questionable.

| Kona was trying real hard to show off her skills in taijutsu. She had trained so hard the past couple years and she would swear to anyone who dared question her that she was improving drastically...yet when she landed that kick right on his nose, the giant with weird hair still seemed completely unfazed by her attack. Even if he was tough, surely his face would be a weak spot: everyone's face is a weak spot!
This confused and stunned Kona that she didn't attempt to land correctly, and it infuriated her into attempting to turn her body into kicking him in the face again. Neither of these were the correct the choice to make. Now make no mistake, Kona had the upper hand when it came to out-speeding the hulking purple-headed mass in front of her, but sadly she was already caught up in her attempt to attack the freak again, thus she was completely open to his attack...which was flicking her in the chest.
Fortunately, it was just a flick. Unfortunately, it was just a flick. Upon contact it sent her flying into one of the wooden training pillars. She pushed herself up immediately and stood to fight, but pain arced through her body, which initiated from her chest. She knew right away something was broken, as she had similar pain before, although she wasn't quite sure what it was.
She only babied it for a couple moments before forcing herself back into her fighting stance. She held her determined look, although it was plagued by a bit of wincing, and she eyed the giant with a piercing glaze.
"Hehehe...HA! Is that all you got? I've got you on the ropes now, you lumbering jerk!" She then intended to rush at the giant again, but instead that action was was replaced with a coughing fit. This of course agitated her injury, and she was barely holding herself up on her feet with her knees quaking as she forced herself to stand in spite of the pain. | |

| Chantelle’s eyes widened in horror as she watched Kona flying through the air and into one of the training pillars completely destroying it. Unable to watch any more of this she would step in between the boy mountain and the young girl. “Alright, that’s enough you two. You’re obviously in no condition to fight anymore Kona-chan and I won’t stand here and watch you get yourself killed because of your pride.” She sternly as her blue eyes went from Jei to Kona to gauge their reactions. As the eldest of the three, it was up to her to keep these two in check and she wasn’t going to allow this madness to continue. Dipping into her purse she would pull out a piece of candy and handed it over to Jei before patting him on the head. “You win Jei, good job.” She said with a smile before heading over to Kona. “Let me see how bad your injury is.” She wasn’t bleeding, which was good but she might have broken something which unfortunately for her, Chantelle had no means of healing broken bones. | |

He spoke and was given candy for stepping back and looked towards the wall he had shattered, and the space under it. That looked like a nice spot. To nap or to eat candy, a ponderence so utterly difficult, it has plagued Jei since about the time he was born. He then pondered something not new, but new to him at that very second. What if he did both? That was an idea and a half for Jei, as he popped the candy in his mouth and walked over to the wall and sorta just kicked the rest of it out, in a him-wide hole, and laid down so that the shade was just over his eyes and closed his eyes.
"megosleepnow."
He spoke this as fact, for he planned on napping. He wouldn't fall asleep just yet, he'd sorta just lay there. He didn't want to hurt smol girl, but she ran at him and he had to defend himself somehow, and he figured one finger power was enough? Candy lady seemed mad though. That smile was not the nice kind, and that wasn't good. That was bad.
He didn't move from the ground, though. | |

| Kona finally managed to stop coughing, but she was still unable to move, as it took all she had to stand. Once the girl started taking a look at her she was trying to put her in a more comfortable position but it just aggravated her even more. She struggled against her a bit before getting REALLY agitated.
"G-Get your damn hands off of me!" she managed to push out trough sheer spite as she managed to escape from the girl and she slowly stood back up and pointed at the giant freak who was working on taking a nap.
"Hey, get your big ass up, we-" she panted and winced from the pain.
"We aren't done yet, punk! That hit was nothing, and I'm raring to go, so get your lazy ass up and FIGHT ME!" she shouted triumphantly before coughing...and then doubling over from the pain. | |

| Chantelle did nothing but watch as the young girl continued to defy reasoning. She was tempted to immobilize her by using her chakra scalpel to severe her tendons but that was a tad bit too extreme and quite frankly a waste of chakra on her part. If the young girl didn’t want any help, why would she force her? She will succumb to her injuries sooner or later and will probably wish that Chantelle had helped her out as now she’d probably end up in the hospital. Letting out a sigh, Chantelle would move over to a nearby bench where she would sit and watch the two kids laying on the ground, for different reasons of course. “What did I do to deserve this…” She muttered to herself before popping a piece of candy in her mouth. | |

Jei said, as he sat up, his eyes half-way open.
He knew that he had broken the small child.
"i'msosorrycandylady"
He did feel really bad. He felt bad enough that he'd get up and look at the candy lady, and for the first time in a long time he'd actually speak a sentence. This was rare, for it wasn't candy. He had decided that he'd want to do a thing wihtout having to get paid candy for it. He got up and, going to the small child who was facefirst on the ground, would pick her up in a single hand and look at candy lady.
"where's hospital candy lady?"
He had never had to go. He was too durable for basically anyone to hurt, and he was too hardy to get sick. He legit had no idea where said place was, even if he thought hard about it. He wasn't a mean boy, he was just young and moody. He just wanted something to be proud of. | |

| Don't you DO it, Kona! Don't you EVEN DARE!
She managed to hold back the tears with such effort that her eyes didn't even water from the pain, but it was all she could do for now. She was on her hands and knees, and there was no way she was getting up. When she wasn't coughing, she was gasping for air as a reaction from her coughing fits, and that didn't really help with the pain either. She was stuck...she had lost.
"...d...damn it. I guess...we'll have to postpone...our fight...until I recover. D...damn it! How could I lose...so easily? I...I guess I'll just...have to...train...even harder..." she grimaced as she did her best to stand up, which was more just doing her best not to fall down completely. She coughed a few more times before she noticed she wasn't touching the ground anymore.
The giant freak had picked her up off the ground. At first she thought he was going to throw her and that maybe the whole napping thing was a diversion to distract her had she been able to keep fighting, but he kept her snug in place without putting pressure on her injury. Then he said something about where the hospital was at, but Kona was struggling to keep her vision clear. Although she may try to ignore it, she was a child who often got sick and had a weak frame, and today hadn't been her best day by far. Add that to the fact that she pushed herself so hard earlier, and it was a wonder she didn't just fall out completely from that attack of his.
It took a lot from her, but she stuck out an arm and did he best to punch this man in the side, albeit very weakly.
"H...hey. D-don't you dare...look down on me! I'll...I'll get stronger than you...just you wait! Then I'll...show you...who's really...the strongest!" she forced out, panting in pain. | |

| Chantelle would let out a sigh before getting up. She could’ve just let the kid learn the hard way and leave her there but Jei did seem truly remorseful of what had happened to her, so she had no choice but to help. “I’ll lead you there.” She said with a blank expression on her face as she made her exit from the training grounds and headed to the streets of the village. Luckily for them, the hospital wasn’t far away so it would take them approximately five minutes to arrive and once they did, Chantelle would ask one of the nurses to contact a particular medical ninja. That shinobi was a relative of hers and once he had arrived he would take the young girl from the man mountain and took her into an empty room where they would begin the healing process. “She should be fine now, we can’t do anything but wait until he’s done healing her.” Chantelle said before taking a seat in the waiting room. | |
