The Will of Mist

Satomi walked in his office one last time. After the invasion against the Rain village he had won a great victory for the Mist. An additional twenty-thousand men to be added into the army for the Mist. But the war was short lived but he had lost many souls in the attack. He killed mostly everyone that posed a threat to him, but he lost one of the most powerful assets to the Mist.

The Jinchuriki Kirito was killed by the ANBU Commander of the Rain's village forces. It was a hard death to fathom right in the front of Kiri's overwhelming forces. However that came with war. He took off his Kage's hat and put it on his table.

He had already talked to the council about his decision and he would stay till they found a suitable leader and a temporary leader would be put into effect. Maybe he could find the previous Kage who had gone undercover somewhere for the sake of the village. He had a bad feeling abou the safety of the village and he would still need to protect it. Just in a different way. (Exit)

Naomi had come to the Office of the Mizukage to talk with him when she saw it, the hat sitting Abandoned on the desk, this was a sad day indeed, since there was no council to chose who would lead next, Naomi wrote three letters, and sent them to the other members of the Swordsmen, Gekkido, Senjiro, and Kireina. The Swordsmen would have to select a leader, Naomi was content with her position , so she would not wish to lead the Mist village, but she could not leave it leaderless either.

She would wait on the desk of the Mizukage for the three to arrive.

When Kireina recieved a letter from Naomi she had already been on her way to the Mizukage's office to talk about the state of Amegakure after their successful incursion. Pushing through the doors K saw missing was Satomi Uchiha but present was Naomi Kaguya. Twisty had been the first of the remaining swordsmen to arrive. Without saying anything to the other female the Hyuuga walked over to the desk, her fingertips trailing the surface. In one swift movement, the red head would be sitting in the chair with her heels up on the edge. In her left hand would be the Kage hat and just as before the fingertips of her free hand were stroking the surface of the headpiece.

If Naomi were to remain quiet so would Kireina, that is until the other members arrived. When that time came she would have the hat upon her head with her hands folded across her stomach as she leaned back in the chair. That is if Naomi made no attempts to take it from her before then. As ANBU captain she certainly had the authority to do so but in this situation, it wouldn't be deemed disrespectful as their kage had left without a trace or notice. Speaking of that title she was due for a rank up even if she declined this one and then someone else would need to be chosen as her replacement.

Gekkido arrived in the Kage office, eerily suspicious at the letter Senjiro had received. If he had to guess, he thought that this was some kind of trap for himself and Senjiro, and that the whole thing was a hoax. But when he entered into the building he realized the tone was so serious that something real had to be going on. He didn't speak, and instead stood next to his friend Senjiro as a kind of protective mechanism just in case. He wore all black with the Kaguya symbol on his shirt in turquoise.

"So what's next?" he said softly.

Naomi would stand up with the entrance of Gekkido, and the side she got off of put her in arms Reach of the Kage hat off of the head of the Female who answered the summon first and then Naomi would speak to them all as she took the hat off of Kireina and then she would throw it onto the table " Firstly welcome to the first official meeting of the Swordsmen of the Mist, It is nice to meet you all. For those who somehow do not know me, I am Naomi Kaguya..." and with that she would Draw the blade from the small of her back, " I am the Wielder of Hiremekari and the Leader appointed by the Kage of the Swordsmen, as well as ANBU Captain of this village." After any other introducetions that wanted to be made , She put the sword tip down between her feet on the floor and stated " As is Evident, our Kage seems to have abandoned his post without any word, and we need to decide as soon as possible, as the strongest in the village, who should lead us."

She fell silent for only a second, and before anyone answered she would speak up "Being ANBU and Swordsmen leader, I will not be stepping up to this, My Skill Set is better put to use for killing anyone who is after the leader or the village, or deflectors."

Once the other two people they were waiting for arrived, Naomi, the one who had sent them all letters began to speak. Though not before removing the hat from the Hyyuga's head. Unbothered she remained still during the process. The woman announced to the group that she had been chosen by the previous kage, who'd now abandoned them, to be the leader of this ancient "team"?. It was honestly not sure what their purpose really was. Everyone in Kiri's military were killers, the ANBU were the silent ones so did that make the Swordsmen the flashy ones? Either way, it wasn't important right now, the shorter, younger, yet bustier female continued on after her introduction. The explanation of their summons was short and obvious.

Following that there was a pause, perhaps to let everyone digest the information. However, when broken it was done so by the same woman who had orchestrated this all. She elucidated that she was content with her current position thus ousting herself from the running. Twisty found herself nodding to the girl's last words, she too felt the same but also want the power that came with the title. Although she would not reveal this unless someone else tried to make a claim for it or if no one stepped up.

Gekkido arrived shortly after Senjiro made his appearance which meant the current swordsmen and women were all present. The blue haired nara notice that there wasn't much interaction between them. He asked questions and was ignored, and Gekkido also did the same. The nara did begin to wonder if it was worth mentioning right now. He instead elected to listen to what Naomi had to say about their predicament. The vacant Mizukage hat surely set the tone for the gathering. Senjiro watched naomi carefully as she drew her weapon. It was almost ceremonial but senjiro was equally interested in Naomi's words. Samehada was as always keeping a close eye on what was happening. His weapon was his alarm system so to speak.

Naomi made it clear the reasoning behind the meeting. This was to decide on the next Mizukage, to which Senjiro discounted Gekkido. It wasn't so long ago that Gekkido stated his desire for Senjiro to be the next mizukage. The nara warmed up to the idea after some time. But he was now presented with the opportunity to be just that. Senjiro looked to Sakumo as the other person who might want said title. What was it to be? No words were spoken of a desire to become the mizukage. Senjiro soon sighed and looked around the room.

"Time to decide on the next mizukage. I Senjiro Nara wish to take over the mantle as Mizukage. Do I have any opposition to my claim?". He asked while looking around the room at the others. He didn't mind being the first person to speak up about his desire to be the Mizukage. Noami claimed not to want the position. He was almost positive that Gekkido will look to step back from it. This means Sakumo was likely his challenger, assuming that she wanted the position that is.

There was a calmness in the room.

It was evident to Gekkido within a matter of moments that the four people in the room were the strongest in the entire nation. Naturally, therefore, it was within a matter of moments that his brilliant mind sized up, summed up, and calculated exactly all of what was going on. His primary and only loyalty at this time was to the man standing five meters to his left on the opposite side of the table from the two females; Senjiro. Looking on as Naomi spoke, he instantly summarized that she was not to be trusted. Naomi Kaguya had slaughtered members of her own family years ago. She was infamous in the Kaguya clan as being the only member to defect after such an atrocity and be protected by the government. Several assailants had come after her or at least been sent; none had come back. He didn’t know her personally, but he knew she was no ally and not to be trusted. The fact that Vizer had apparently abandoned the village was so skeptical and confusing that Gekkido almost laughed when the words were said. He didn’t necessarily think this was a set-up, but he knew there was more to the story than that a shinobi of that caliber simply vanishing without a reason given. The mystery behind that was of little concern to him, however, as the focus was on the accomplishment of his greater goals; and this meeting was a pivotal step towards them. Taking power over the government of Kirigakure was going to end up being a lot easier than he anticipated. With Vizer gone, it was would be survival of the fittest. One thing he respected and recognized in Naomi was the awareness that governmental power was not a matter of morale or of attitude; it was purely about power. No doubt a value they both shared by being from the same power-driven clan. You learned early on as a Kaguya that those who ruled were those who couldn’t be killed by the ones they ruled over. He was glad that Naomi hadn’t been vague nor sugar coated that part of it. This was a meeting to decide who was fit to lead; and that meant who was the strongest. Naomi immediately removed herself from the running, which left Gekkido, Senjiro and the woman in the chair near Naomi. Gekkido too, was not interested in running, and thus that meant the only competition for this role was between himself and Kireina.

When Naomi finished her vague and short-winded speach, Gekkido did what only a person of his level of insane confidence and brutal nature would do; he imposed himself.

Gekkido had never sat down, and had remained outwardly calm as the woman had spoken. He noticed a docility in Kireina and surmised in a nano-second that whether she had desire for position or not, she was not confident in putting her foot forward. Allowing Gekkido to see weakness, indecisiveness or hesitation, was like allowing a shark to see a bleeding wound. Thus seeing the hesitation from Kireina, he acted accordingly.

LRA activated and a shroud of yellow lightning crackled about Gekkido. So rapid were these pulses that it was likely to startle anyone who hadn’t witnessed the legendary technique. He was not here to kill anyone, but as always more than willing. When LRA activated the two blades he had strapped to his back were brought forth, one in each hand aimed towards Naomi and Kireina respectively. The move was assertive, but not aggressive; he wasn’t going to initiate any attack. He really didn’t consider Noami a threat, and in fact somewhat assumed she’d understand his behavior. It was not the Kaguya way to simply raise your hand if you wanted to be king and hope no one said otherwise. It was assumed that everyone wanted to rule, and that there would either be death or submission; Gekkido was here to hasten the process for his friend. The activating and of LRA and the drawing of the now lightning induced Kiba blades would happen simultaneously; and would be timed to coincide with the ending of Senjiro’s last sentence. Gekkido had heard enough, and had come into the meeting with a decided mind; Senjiro would be Mizukage.

He had a Kiba blade pointed at Naomi as well as Kireina, but he fixed his intense purple eyes on Kireina specifically, with Naomi in his peripherals at all times.

“Senjiro will be Mizukage,”he said firmly, with a tone that assumed he didn’t need to justify himself. He knew the woman in the chair was no match for himself or Senjiro but dared her to prove him otherwise. He suspected that Naomi would attempt to interfere, but she was not the main threat seeing as she had already removed herself from the race. Lightning chakra flowed to the brain, enhancing his perceptual abilities greatly in case of a surprise retaliation. To add a tone of reason to his rather drastic move, he concluded with the following statement:

“I too, have no desire to be Kage, but am fit for defending it.  I champion Senjiro as the wisest and strongest in this nation; I see no need for any more voting or discussion.”

With that, Gekkido held his blade five meters away from Naomi, and eight from Kireina. Lighting pulsated through and about his entire body as well as the blades. He saw himareki in between the feet of Naomi and knew that it was too late for her to use it in retaliation. Kireina hadn’t made much of a move, but at this distance she was surely wise enough to know that he was not to be trifled with. As stated before, Gekkido had already agreed to not initiate any attacks or fighting, and had not come here to kill the competition. But he knew that a statement needed to be made whenever a crown was moved from one head to the next, and he would be sure that nothing would interfere with Senjiro taking kageship. As usual, he was ready to be the bad guy if necessary.

Naomi Noted that Kireina stayed silent, Senjiro spoke of his claim, and then she saw Gekkido's Reaction. She stared down the Tip of the only other swords that could fully count as two different weapons other then her own. The Kiba Fangs, She Smirked as she looked up at Gekkido and said to him in a tone that was blood curdling to most, and yet Seductive to those akin to her in the ways of killing "Deary I understand you want your boyfriend to be Kage, but if Kireina chooses to Challenge it is Not up to you in any way to determine that it should be Senjiro." She continued to smirk as she stepped forward, closing the distance between them, making the distance from the blade a mere two meters.

"You of all people should reconize that it should be up to them to prove which is the more powerful and rightful Kage, not the sidekick's job, so please stand down before I regretfully have to hurt a fellow Mist Shinobi due to ignorance." Hiremakari was lifted up when she walked but did not change position, and was returned to tip in the floor when she stopped moving. She would then turn her head to Senjiro who she was now closer to as well for closing the Distance between her and Gekkido, and said to him "Well Deary, its between you two, Either Be boring and diplomatic or decide like true members of the Mist and fight it out, if she wishes to have it that is" Her eyes fully train in on Gekkido, watching to see what his next move would be.

She was already ready however, With Hiremakari she could easily generate Chakra out of it and give it true shape, Be it something pointed to halt any possible progression, or even a shield to slow the Kiba blade down. Under her skin a layer of calcium crystal began to form like a armor , to further increase her defensive Capabilities, This was a unique power she was born with and as to why her father abused her and pushed her the most out of her siblings, some could say she had a truer form of the very bloodline ability that made the Kaguya feared, for she did not just manipulate the bone as a whole, but specifically the part for the majority of the density, The Bone crystals themselves.

She was prepared to fight if she had to but she did not wish it, least not for something as trivial as ignorance, but her father drilled the importance of the Kaguya clans power into her head, and then after training under Okami, she had Respect for one thing, and one thing only. Power.

When the taller white haired male erupted in lightning Kireina raised an eyebrow. She'd never seen the technique before but there was nothing to be scared of, the male was clearly trying to display his power. The action was accompanied by the drawing of his blades which were aimed at Naomi and K. With the male staring her down and uttering those words, Kireina's lips twisted into a curve. Then almost as if they were sharing a brain Naomi responded to the young male, the tone and condescension were perfect K couldn't have said it better herself. While she wouldn't have said "deary" that was a slight personal touch that could be overlooked. The Hyuuga was comfortable in her seat but with Naomi asking Senjiro what he would do she knew that they would need to change venues. That is if he truly wanted the position, for all they knew he had been waiting just as Kireina to see if anyone would jump the gun. There didn't seem to be any conviction in his claim.

Taking her legs down and standing Twisty would begin to speak. "This is why hesitation-" She would say that word using air quotes. "Usually pays off." She wasn't that familiar with Naomi but she at least expected the female to know that she wouldn't be so boring as to let the first person to speak have the title. "So best two out of three?" The woman asked mockingly while holding out her fist insinuating that this be decided through rock, paper, scissors.

Naomi opening her mouth in response…. Much less walking towards the tip of Kiba had to be the closest thing he’d ever seen to suicide. His gut contracted to prevent him from killing her, and he clenched his jaw in remembrance of what needed to happen here for Senjiro to be successful. He withdrew his weapon in an instant, not acknowledging the silliness of either of the females. He realized as foolish as this was, it would have to be done according to procedure.

When Kireina finished speaking, Gekkido calmly departed to the door on the right, five meters away from where he stood. He said not a word but carried a sinister smirk on his mouth as Senjiro challenged the Hyuuga; he knew the bout would be short and painful. He exited the main Kage building and through the hallway to the exit into the streets. He’d catch up with his friend later, for the time being he had some plotting and calculating to do.

Naomi would Move to the Window after Snejiro did, but then jumped up and landed on the roof and watched as he took off, and followed at a Distance. She kept her Comments to herself about his comments, honestly only one man ever got her that deserved her, every other man was simply cause she wanted to be boned.

But, She thought to herself, If he could Rival or even Beat Okami, then maybe he could have a shot. She sat in a Tree close by, she was far enough that nothing could happen without her being able to react, but close enough to see everything that happened. She was ready to see this get going.

Senjiro's comments were truly that of an immature child. Though he'd ignored her gesture the male rushed out of the window to find a fighting spot. Children are so impulsive, how can we let this one be the leader? A side thought thrown into the air as the blue haired boy's cheerleader exited the building normally. The Hyuuga simply shook her head he was just so gung-ho a few seconds ago and now he was leaving. Definitely can't have him as the second in command. Be that as it may neither of the other two swordsmen tried to stop him or even seemed concerned that he wouldn't be taking witness. Oh well, one is enough. She guessed as Kireina followed the others out of the window.

The red head would've stayed by Naomi while the boy activated any preemptive jutsu but the darker female decided to perch herself in a tree. So there'd be no official referee, the two would simply be standing face to face with the extremely low chance that the other would back down dangling from a thread. If there were no "final words" to be said the woman would active her dojutsu while having held nuibari's thread seamlessly in one hand since leaving her office.

There absolutely were no more words to be spoken; Once Kireina was firmly planted on the new ground a mark on the male's chest began to spread rather fast. The woman's eyes were already on it and while it would probably be better to try and stop the spreading Kireina allowed it. And while the mark was spreading the boy's hands formed the hare seal and his cloak seemed to come alive. That gaudy thing must have been a stepping stone for a living weapon and she was sure that she'd find out sooner rather than later what it's capable off. For the meantime the red head had to deal with these kunai he sent flying at her, it was easy to see that they were attached to strings so Kiriena decided to see just how well the boy could manipulate them. With a tug of her own thread, Nuibari dashed in front of the kunoichi to not only block but reflect the attack with the same speed and force it had been sent. Childsplay; While it was always better to test the waters rather than rush right in this didn't seem like the best situation to do so, at least to K.

But since they were throwing things the Hyuuga created a few sparks in her free hand and sent six fireballs flying at the boy. Copying his action they would be aimed for his stomach, right shoulder, and left shoulder also the left and right sides of his head along with his face.

So far this fight was off to a decent pace, with each opponent feeling each other out rather than trying to instantly crush the other to show who was truly dominant. Although the latter might seem like the default way of fighting for this brutish country they weren't all walking stereotypes. Despite what was on the line Kireina had not yet been pushed to go all out. Now as the male stopped his own weapons from running into himself, didn't plan on moving just yet. Whether or not he anticipated this the end result of his rapid seal weaving was a swamp forming beneath the red head's feet.

Kireina wasted no time figuring out whether she'd be paralyzed/stunned or pulled underground. Once more using her now free again hand the female shot a blast of pure chakra at the ground causing herself to be propelled off the ground. Through the use of her dojutsu, she could see that swamp was spreading a great distance all around except in front. That meant she could either fall back and let him come to her or take the initiative and attack. While she literally had the upper hand, K wasn't about to waste it.

The hand holding the thread would give said object a tug and be replaced by the legendary weapon, following that it would be javelined directly for the male's heart. His cloak was taking care of the fireballs so he'd likely use Samehada to thwart its brother, not that that mattered since she didn't channel any chakra into it. Though the possibility of him knocking her sword into the swamp stood, it didn't have an insanely long tail for nothing. To kick things up ever so slightly the female shot large number of roughly 300 high velocity water needles at the male from her mouth. She was lowkey hoping he'd reel her in but if not she'd blast herself to land 30 meters behind him.

As K coasted up into the air she noticed a sphere of chakra surround her opponent. Obviously, a barrier whether it was meant to redirect incoming attacks or not the man goal was to keep the user safe. There was no way of knowing how long the male could keep it up other than to wait it out yet she didn't intend on spending her whole day on this fight. Still not wanting to waste her advantage Nuibari would be thrown, doing this would also give her an idea of how strong the barrier was. Or so she thought, just as the weapon had been thrown the male stepped to his right. The wind resistance, quick speed and perception of the boy meant that it wouldn't make in time. Thinking on her feet Kireina shot 300 water needles while pulling back on Nuibari's thread before it reached ten meters from the boy, in doing so she discovered the barrier's ability. The water senbon appeared to be sinking in before the area around them became warped and they vanished.

There was a small twinkle in K's eyes, who knew if the male could see it from this far or not but she approved of that trick. However, the admiration was short as she needed to reconnect with the earth before her escape became useless. So the girl shot more blasts from her hand to put her 30 meters behind the boy.

While blasting herself away from the swamp K noticed how large Senjiro's barrier had become. Regardless of how much chakra it did or didn't consume K knew that it would be a pain in the ass to have to keep avoiding it. She also didn't have many long range jutsu or a booster to smash through it so she decided to cut her loses. Being midair she couldn't run so she pulled Nuibari in even closer and used it to push off while performing the ram seal. Immediately after, as the woman glided fiercely through the air, she threw the weapon at the tree Naomi was sitting in.

With it well lodged into the wood she could yank and continue zipping through the sky or use gravity to swing. Either way, she'd end up with her soles planted on the metal. From there she'd acknowledge the boy's strength and offer him the position.

It would appear that there was no need to prolong the battle any further. Senjiro watched Kireina with a blank expression on his face. His eyes stayed with the Kunoichi until she she found her footing. Unfortunately, K saw fit to end the battle and therefore relinquished the title of Mizukage. Senjiro was grateful, so much that he nodded positively in K direction. He was somewhat happy with the outcome, although Samehada wasn't. The ground before him returned to normal. His three Kunai remained buried deep underground. His cloak returned to its normal state while Senjiro prepared to leave the area. Senjiro waved in K and Naomi's direction while leaving. He sincerely hope to catch up with the two at a later date. Both could be fun to deal when void of a foul mood. Senjiro made sure to keep a close watch on them both while leaving. He wasn't about to let his guard down, not yet anyway. All Senjiro needed to do now was go and claim the Mizukage's hat. The blue haired Shinobi did just that, speeding off to the office. Once there the vacant hat was picked up. Senjiro inspected it before leaving outside the window with it. Now would be a good time to go and meet up with Gekkido.
