Appearance: Kai has an average build, albeit a bit thin. He Has short, shaggy, brown hair that is concealed under face wraps. The only part of his face not concealed, are his eyes. His eyes have no unique pattern or design, simply have blue coloration; although they are distinctly sharp, and a handful of people have described them as “piercing”. When on missions he will often use the facewrap to cover one eye (usually his left). He does this to help him focus a target more easily, and it makes it so that if their is a sudden shift in light, he can change which eye is covered, so he need not adjust both eyes to the same light levels.
His outfit mostly consists of varying forms of camouflage that he picks based on season and region. He wears closed toed boots that are made to withstand wear and tear. He has a habit of wearing the sleeve on his right arm pulled up, yet leaving the left arm sleeve completely down (this is a habit that he developed while hunting, he is right handed and the sleeves often get in his way). The shirts are loosely flowing (allows for concealment of smaller objects and/or tools). The pants are sashed at the waist, somewhat loose, and taped at the ankles (so as not to be in the way).

Personality: Cold, highly perceptive,and manipulative. While not inherently evil, Kai is apt to do many things that are considered to be in a moral “grey area”. He does have ambition, but is not blinded by it. He is more than willing to make friends and work with others, but it is extremely rare that he will form any sort of meaningful bonds; due to his belief that they will impair his judgement. He has a somewhat one track mind when on any mission of any sort, and will always prioritize its completion above all else, save his own well being. He spent a great deal of his life alone in the wild, as such he is fairly well versed in stalking and analyzing his targets. Due to being alone however, he has a tendency to be somewhat selfish, choosing self preservation over all other things.

This self preservation could, theoretically, expand to anyone he forms a very close bond with. This, as stated before, is immensely rare. It's why this part of his personality is considered a hidden part of him, as it makes him seem less cold and manipulative, which is wrong. He is cold, manipulative, but he's also human. Somewhere, deep in that heart of his.
Character History: Kai comes from a clan that's name is lost to the world, it was however originally from the Village Hidden in the Mist. At only 1 year of age, his clan was wiped clean from the records by the Mizukage’s orders. He was found abandoned, and raised by a hermit outside of the Mist Village, who was in the area tracking an animal to hunt. He would spend the next 7 years of his life being taught to track, hunt, and capture any animal that lived in the region by the kind hermit. Eventually however, the old man was discovered by the Mist and taken in for interrogation. In his panic the old man revealed that he had in fact taken in the boy and had been raising him. The old man wished to live the rest of his life in peace, and as such betrayed the boy, revealing his location to the ANBU of the Hidden Mist. Kai, having felt as though something was wrong, fled from the Water Nation as soon as the old hermit was taken away.
Over the next two years Kai would spend all of his time traveling, drifting, just trying to find places to spend even the slightest amount of time feeling relatively safe. He would spend over a year in the outskirts of the Village Hidden in the Sand. During this time he learned of two things in particular that drew his attention more than anything else. First, he developed an enjoyment of the art of puppetry specific to the Sand Village, and decided that one day he would learn to use puppets himself. Second, and even more important to Kai, he found his creed whilst in the sand. He remembers seeing a child at the ninja academy having a particularly foul tantrum; this tantrum was quickly halted by a Chunin instructor who said the following “As a child, and a ninja, you are to be neither seen, nor heard.”
From this moment forth, Kai placed a self imposed silence on himself until he would be recognized for his skills as a ninja. He spent as much time as possible stalking people that he noticed were at least competent enough that they may notice him. At first he wasn’t so successful, but eventually was able to stalk quite well. He left the sand, feeling that he had nothing else to gain from the village until he had grown more. Now he travels the Land of Fire, and has done so for the past 8 months." />
