Appearance: Shen stands at 5 foot and 11 inches. He weighed at around 167lbs with his skinny body type. He has brown hazel eyes that is sometimes covered by his hair in the mornings. Shen usually has to tie it up to keep it out of his eyes. He also usually sports a hat, T-Shirt and Jeans when he is out in the public. He mostly wears it when he wants people to think of him as the average civilian. He also likes to wear black glasses as well. Though he doesn't need to wear them, because he doesn't have bad eyesight. Personally he likes to wear them along with his ensemble. He also likes to wear fur boots over his jeans.
He states that he wears them because they're comfortable and form fitting. Not only that on his tongue, hands and back, he has strange markings on his slightly muscular body. Shen has taken to calling them battle scars, though they are just weird birth marks. Shen has no defined muscles rather he has the bare amount needed so that it isn't all fat. Contrary to his personality, Shen tends to look like the quiet type. Like he rather be doing something other than fighting someone.

Personality: When one first meets Shen he seems arrogant, overbearing, selfish, and prone to make fun of his own comrades. He strives to be the best and looked down on those who do not share his desire to improve themselves, heavily reprimanding their weakness and even resolving to hurt them whenever they stepped in his path. Due to his outlook, he tends to care very reluctant in helping his comrades when they put themselves in shitty situations. He usually suggests that they had to give him something in order to acquire his help. Namely something they have that interest him or for a 'favor'. The only things he appeared to truly care about are the reputation of his group/team/crew and his own goals. He becomes furious every time someone made fun of it. When furious his methods can be considered to be sadistic and excessive.
Though around people who earn his respect, He comes off far more light-hearted. He lets off a few jokes and even shows a slight lecherous side to him. He can be a pretty uptight person and he is a bit OCD when it comes to the appearance things around him. "A Hozuki must always be presentable whether helping a town or drowning it." He is very perceptive when it comes to things being out of place. He hates dirty and unkempt things which makes it hard for him to get along with others especially if they have a naturally unappealing appearance. He has habit of pointing out even the smallest flaw in one's appearance. Though once you get past that, he is a person who is always willing to give his opinion on a subject.
Shen though he is a member of the prestigious Hozuki family, he is not a fighter. He is more of a schemer. Preferring to use his superior intellect and deftness to defeat opponents than brute strength. This has culminated into him being seen as a coward by many of his comrades. Mostly because he has no issue in retreating when things go bad and will almost never go into an all-out brawl with an opponent if he can avoid it.
Character History: Infancy:
Many shinobi have humble beginnings of loss at young age. Shen was no different. In the stage of infantry he was taken by a secret group of shinobi. Their goal was to perform a ritual which granted immense power, the ability to use all 5 chakra natures. The recipient of the power had to collect the hearts of 5 powerful shinobi infants of pure chakra nature and sacrifice them to the ritual. Taking Shen they identified him as a water nature shinobi, like the other children he had an abundance of chakra. The group had possession of Shen for around a week before they began the ritual
The shinobi began to stab the infants. Starting with fire, then earth, then when he came to water, he stood over Shen. Lifting the kunai the shinobi began to bring down the kunai pointing at Shen’s soft chest. Luckily the kunai never touched his soft flesh. The shinobi on the other hand fell to the ground, his neck snapped. Behind the shinobi stood a giant of a man. The man lifted Shen from the ritual pedestal and handed him to a familiar man with a shinobi headband. It was Shen’s father. Shen was still too young to understand what was being said but what he did know was that he wasn’t exactly in the safest place even if he was in his father’s arms. His father seemed to exchange words with the man. Then he was given back to the man whom then took him and the other shinobi children home.
Hours passed, Shen stayed in his house alone with a singleman. The man did entertain Shen for an hour or two but it was obvious even to the 2 month old that something was wrong. And unfortunately for Shen he was right. Coming through the door was his father being supported by his mother. His father had multiple wounds in the back and his skin was as white as snow. His mother who also looked pale only had a stump of an arm. Her left arm was only a stub where her entire forearm once was. The moment they came in the father lifted from the mother’s grasp and hobbled over to Shen. Looking at his son, Shen’s father smiled before finally passing away. His mother had passed out once the father let go, the shinobi man moved to take care of Shen’s mother and tried to do the same for his father. He was too late. Shen had lost his father.
Childhood:
Like everyone else Shen was a relatively happy kid. He enrolled in the ninja academy and like most he did well. He never really had much problem doing anything or so people would think. Though he never had any real stress or any tangible reason he was alway protective of his mother. His mother though she had lost both her husband and her left arm she had never quit being a shinobi and not only did she not quit utilizing her skills she even became infamous herself. In fact she made sure to encourage Shen to be like his father, to be a strong shinobi and make his late father proud. Unfortunately Shen still being a young child didn’t care much about such things but he did care about his mother’s wishes and well being. Seeing as he was the one who took care of her wounds and was trained by her after ninja academy, he couldn’t help but worry about her when she came back late at night after a 2 day mission with her one good arm heavily damaged.
Either way, Shen did what he could to make life easy for his mother. He cooked and cleaned, and treated his mother wounds and in turn she made the money for the household and trained him after school. It was a relatively simple setup and a easy one. Once he graduated he set out to fulfill his mother's wishes and become a shinobi that his father would be proud of.
