Learning Bojutsu [Private]

It was time to begin to learn some of the techniques he had made for the second level of his personal style. The first level consisted of techniques inspired by Kenjutsu, the second level however were inspired by Bo staff techniques. This would be his first attempt at making a steel creation from his body that he actually separated from himself. It would surely be a difficult task, but one that he needed to completed none the less. Pushing chakra into his body and slowly turning it into steel chakra, he would clap his hands together letting out a steady stream of the steel release chakra at once. As he separated his hands, he would solidify the chakra as it left his hands slowly creating a steel staff that ended up getting to be six feet in length when it was done.

Once he made the staff he took a moment to rest as it took a lot out of him. He needed to make it second nature, as one didn't always have twenty seconds to form a weapon in the heat of battle. He caused the staff to dissipate and started the process over with the intent of making it more seamless and easier on his chakra, so he could get it finished faster, even in the blink of an eye if he needed it.

He pushed another staff out, this time in five seconds. It seemed that he had made a good amount of progress, so he would begin working on preforming some basic bojutsu katas he had learned while he was a samurai. He still remembered being beaten over the head by his sensei whenever he messed up the katas, so they were still, even without thinking about it, in pique condition.

It was time for Kirito to begin actually training his technique. He started by spinning the staff as fast as he physically could. This wasn't the hard part, the hard part would be spinning it and then moving it in such a fashion that it could deflect an attack. Upon pushing some of his chakra into the technique, he realized he was spinning it much faster than he had before. He would form a shadow clone to practice against. It would immediately begin to attempt to land a punch or kick by releasing a flurry of combos from the Tiger portion of his techniques. He managed to deflect most of them seamlessly by spinning his staff and turning the momentum they came at him with against them. This would prove to be an invaluable tool to use against both Taijutsu users and ninjutsu users alike. 

The clone took a few steps back and then jumped high into the sky. It would bring down a fist performing the Cherry Blossom Impact technique. Acting quickly, Kirito would spin the staff above his head redirecting the punch as quickly as he could sending his clone crashing into a tree.

With this technique, speed was paramount. For it to be an effective blocking technique, one needed to be moving faster than whatever was coming their way. So, he needed to get better at not only the physical spinning of the staff, but also the application of chakra to speed up his arms and wrists. This allowed him to move far faster than he was able to only a moment ago, his hands almost a blur to even himself had he not been subconsciously channeling chakra to his eyes as well. His clone had gotten up and readied itself for another attack, pulling out a multitude of shuriken to use. Throwing a handful, it would then start running through handsigns. Knowing that he needed to act fast, Kirito would spin his staff and send the Shuriken hurdling back at his clone, just in time to cancel his jutsu. 

He was beginning to get the hang of this technique. He just needed to work on making its formation and then application, near instantaneous. This was no easy task, as he would need to read a situation, form the rod and begin to spin it almost instantly, not to mention adding chakra to his limbs and eyes to speed it up enough. It would surely be a challenge, but he relished in the thought. Allowing the staff to dissipate, he would signal his clone to begin another attack, so that he would need to react quickly.

It drew its sword and dashed at Kirito at its full speed. Kirito would clap his hands and spread them apart, the staff already forming. He would begin spinning it as quickly as it formed and now his clone was only a step away from him. Spinning his staff, he would catch the sword halfway, Spinning it. Redirecting it to another direction, moving it to his side. Spinning it farther, he put the back half of the staff on the back of his clone, pushing it forwards, past him. It would lose its footings and fall flat on its face. 

Wiping sweat from his brow, kirito would allow the clone and the spear to dissipate. He still had a lot of work to do on this technique to get it to the point that he was happy with it, he would need to work on taking on multiple opponents simultaneously to redirect many attacks at once. He would form three clones and tell them to hide and attack at different angles at random. That way, he would need to react at a moments notice, he would need to be ready for their impending attack.

It took several minutes, but finally, the three clones came at him from three different angles. He began to form and spin his staff. The first clone that reached him was using its sword. He deflected the attack off to the side. By this time, the second clone was coming from behind to grab him. He spun his staff as quickly as he could to send this clone crashing onto the other one. It took him a second to locate the third and final clone, but he finally saw it coming from above with a final Cherry Blossom Impact.

He suddenly had an idea. Spinning his blade above him, he directed the clones attack to land on the pile of the other to clones. It destroyed them immediately along with the majority of the ground. Kirito himself had to jump away lest he be caught up in the destruction. He was most certainly pleased with the progress he was making with this technique. It wouldn't be long before he was able to truly say he was a master of his own style.
