Hoshi doing something other than drinking?!(Private/Akira)

Hoshi, despite being Hoshi, sometimes did something that wasn't drinking. Despite the fact that his amount of chakra was absolutely insane to think about. He knew it probably wasn't enough. Something, something, 'Kid was going to join you' and that was an instant bother to Hoshi. He had to babysit some kid that was probably useless?

Nonetheless, they didn't ask much of him, so he had to do this. He had actually taken a break from drinking for once in his life. He actually looked reasonable for once, his decently sized body was sat in the middle of one of the grounds.

While he considered most lower-ranking and new samurai to be utterly useless, he knew that he wasn't the absolute strongest samurai there ever was, and thereby has to listen to the others that tell him to. He was sat in the middle, as he was currently meditating to increase his massive amount of chakra even farther. He knew that he consistently got a lot more from this than other people.

Thus, with his eyes closed, he was meditating for chakra to flow through his system and the like, thinking about how useless most people were. While it could be worse, in example a ninja, he still didn't like babysitting new samurai.

Akira had woken early, which honestly was not normal for him. He functioned much better at night, but he had been given a missive that he would be joining a senior samurai today for training so he should not be late. After waking up and going through his morning routines, he was out the door. His white hair flowing in the wind as he ran, his unique red haori fluttering behind him. When he arrived to the designated training ground, he had already started his chakra exercises as he had been on the approach, so as to not be behind when he arrived. It would turn out that his sensei for the day had already arrived and was sitting in the middle of the field. Akira, not wanting to be rude by ignoring the man would make an approach, stopping just a few meters away from the man, "Ne, I suppose you are the one I am meant to meet here? I am Akira." This is all he could think of to say, his red eyes looking at the man sitting ahead of him, trying to figure out just who the other white haired male was. While white hair wasn't super rare in the Land of Iron, it most certainly wasn't common.

Hoshi's eye cracked open upon the other fellow entering. White hair, curious. Nonetheless, this was probably the trash that he was to train.

"Course I am. Sit down and do some stupid meditation."

It was obvious to anyone and everyone that Hoshi didn't actually want to be there. Hoshi just wanted to be drinking, but knew that if he were to actually live up to his name, that he would have to constantly be training up his reserves, drunk or not. With his one eye, he scanned the boy. Red eyes, white hair. It was likely a coincidence, but that looked an awful lot like what Hoshi looked like without that seal. Strange, but Hoshi didn't care enough at the moment, he just wanted to get this over with.

"What's your stupid gimmick? Other than being weak that is."

Hoshi was still Hoshi, and thereby rude to anyway. He wanted to test the waters though, to see if the boy would out himself as a member of Hoshi's own clan, or if it was just a coincidence. It was very possible that it just sort of happened that the boy was sorta of close to Hoshi's own appearance.

Nonetheless, Hoshi stayed sitting down. He hadn't a reason to get up yet, and closed his eye shortly after he had given the kid a look-over.

The man certainly seemed to wish he was anywhere but there helping Akira train. Asking about a gimmick and then presuming he was weak right off the get go, sheesh, this guy definitely wasn't here to make friends. Akira would sit down where he was, close his eyes for a moment and center himself. Feeling out his chakra and moving it about his body. He had the highest reserves in his graduating class, and as such, he felt it prudent to continue training up his chakra as that was something obviously important. Seeing as it was one of the only things he actually had over other people. "I'm not sure that I have a gimmick? But, I suppose it is normal for a fresh samurai to be weaker than one of his seniors if that is what you mean." Akira continued to focus on his chakra, the ebb and flow, push and pull. He wondered who this man was exactly and why he seemed to dislike Akira so much. "I'm not sure I caught your name, Senpai?" It was quite clear that the man would have a name, so Akira just wanted to get that part of this little meeting out of the way, if for no other reason than to avoid using broad and general names for one of this man's position.

Tch. 'No gimmick' was a total lie, although maybe not an intentional one. Obviously, the boy was something, as he had been sent to be trained by Hoshi despite it all. Hoshi was strong but was an absolutely terrible teacher. Hoshi didn't move a single muscle, as there was no point in moving to do anything towards the boy. He'd test his theories later. Hoshi had more questions, asked in his typical rude manner, to be asked to Akira and his seemingly polite mannerisms.

"That's a lie, perhaps one of omission. I had the largest chakra pool in my graduating class. What's yours? Also, I'm Hoshi, the Immortal."

He hoped to at least slightly startle the boy in front of him with that name. Well, nickname. Most didn't even know that name, but it didn't change that fact that it was true. He was immortal and that was the fun part. He also had godly chakra reserves compared to anyone. He even matched the most powerful of ninja in that manner. He had endless chakra, and thereby, could not die.

It wasn't actually endless, but the 12th time you took off his arm, you figure that he just can't die and was something God forgot to take off the planet.

The man, for whatever reason, did not seem to believe Akira in that he wasn't using any form of gimmick. Maybe, Akira wasn't clear in that he didn't exactly understand what the man was talking about, but he supposed that didn't matter. The man introduced himself as Hoshi, the immortal. The name didn't really ring any bells in Akira's mind, so he merely brushed it off and was glad he was getting to know the man in front of him a little better. "So, Hoshi-senpai, are you really immortal?" Of course the man couldn't be immortal, it was simply impossible for one to stave off death. That is one thing that he had to learn to accept, death was just an eventuality. Whether or not someone was skilled or powerful enough to avoid death, it would come for them eventually. But, should one reach the point they could avoid it on the battle field, they could at least last until it caught them with it's most subtle weapon: time. Regardless, he was going off on a tangent. Focusing back on his own chakra, he could feel it acting a bit strange now, as though it was moving of its own accord. Curious.

Hoshi laughed out loud at the question. The kid wanted proof that he was immortal? Hah. Fine. Immortal proof was needed, and thus he'd give.

"Kid, watch close."

Keeping his breathing at exactly the same rate, Hoshi got up, opening his golden eyes. He grabbed a blade from the wall of the training area, and still keeping his breath at the exact same rate and depth, he unsheathed it. Hoshi then stabbed himself right in the chest, through his own heart, and pulled it out. Blood spurted out, but Hoshi stood.

He even kept breathing casually, as his heart regenerated within his chest. Even the most basic samurai knew where the heart was on the body, and he undoubtedly pierced it. He still didn't shift from his breathing pattern, as he went to then sit back down and continue meditating. He was sure that was enough proof.

If not, he had more extreme examples.

Those were something he wished he didn't have to show off upon first meeting, as the scar tissue inside his body was the entire reason he weighed so much. It was significant and consisted of all the times he got stabbed, cut and overall just harmed by any sort of weapon.

1,100 chakra/1,200 chakra

This man was insane, but instead of trying to stop him from obviously moving to harm himself, Akira's curiosity got the better of him and he simply sat by and watched. The man stabbed himself directly through the heart and then sheathed the blade and sat back down as though it was nothing. This had Akira sitting with wide eyes, his chakra getting a bit more excited, until he put it back under his control. This man was truly an immortal, at the very least in the sense that he couldn't die by what seemed to be the conventional means that would kill a man."Sugoi!!!! That was awesome!" Admittedly, such a strong reaction was not normal for someone typically composed as Akira, but then it wasn't everyday that you saw someone kill themselves right in front of you and not even flinch or show any signs of death, other than the massive amount of blood that squirted onto the floor and on the man's shirt. Akira, once he had regained his composure, continued to work on his chakra control. It was important not to lose focus at times like this, but he was rather excitable when he got to have unique experiences.

Hoshi had to resist laughing super hard, as that would disrupt his breathing rhythm. He was amused about it, though. He felt that feeling that he often did when training his chakra. Him killing himself had barely a harm. He felt like he should explain his magical power the slightest bit. Considering that it was likely that the boy was a part of his clan, due to how he looked. Still, just stabbing a kid while they were training their chakra was entirely rude, so a clean and clear explanation would do.


"I can regenerate from anything. I'm literally immortal."

That was a blatant oversimplification of the power, but it was no matter. One important note that one might miss, is that this regeneration was automatic, in that he had no control over it. Whenever he was injured, he got healed from it, but that just mean minor scrapes were more of a drain to him than others, since it actually drained his chakra instead of just being an injury.

He triggered the seal, causing his eyes to turn red, before opening them to look at the boy.

"It's sure odd that we look a lot alike, huh. I have a feeling, but uh. You'd have to trust me. I wouldn't want to hurt a weakling like you too much."

The man confirmed his thoughts, he was truly an immortal, but what he said next definitely piqued Akira's interest. Why did the man ask if he trusted him? It was difficult to simply trust someone he had just met. It was also odd to think about randomly worrying about hurting someone in the middle of chakra training. But, Akira simply wanted to know what the man was on about, so he simply nodded and stood. It was most certainly shocking that the two had such similar appearances. It brought to life a flicker of hope in Akira's heart that he had long ago squashed out of existence. The hope that all orphans had at one point or another until they reached the age of fourteen and were then conscripted into the military of the Land of Iron. As he moved his chakra through his body and stood to face the man that looked so much like the family he imagined he would have eventually. But, he pushed these thoughts back down, now wasn't the time to get sentimental. He was in the presence of his new senpai and he was about to learn something potentially useful from the apparently immortal man.

Continuing to breathe in a simple manner, he went back over and grabbed the blade that he had stabbed himself with, and cleaned it off. It might have looked odd, but he was still breathing softly, at a consistent rate. He walked over to be in front of the other boy, and using his immense speed over the other, stabbed them in the stomach, before walking back and sitting down across from them, and continuing to meditate.

"You're either about to die, or you'll prove my theory right."

Hoshi closed his eyes then, and continued to meditate. If he was proved right, it would be just fine as it'd make his life slightly easier knowing who he was with, and what they were able to do. Undoubtedly, they weren't as strong, nor did they have the same amount of chakra as him, but nonetheless, he still hoped that his guess was right.

After all, since when was that particular set of traits in a person outside of his clan? Never. Red eyes were rare enough, and white hair with red eyes? One in a million. That's why he figured that he was part of his clan. If not, he may have just committed murder. He'd find out once he heard to react, but until then, he kept his breathing steady and made sure to focus on the meditation a slight bit.

Watching the man clean off the bloody blade was quite odd, but perhaps he simply wanted it to be clean to show off the technique he would be showing Akira today. "What do you need the sword for? Is this a sword based technique?" These were questions Akira asked so that he may find himself in the loop as it were. He was unable to ask any further questions however as the man simply appeared in front of him with the blade in his gut. Before Akira could even register what happened the man was gone again, meditating as though he never even moved. Akira, for his part, was surging with adrenaline at this moment. "WHAT THE HELL- AHHHGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!" He would fall on the ground and roll about in pain, but after several moments of this, he would realize he was no longer bleeding and he was not in pain anymore. "I-I'm alive? W-What happened?" He was amazed and confused, but mostly just glad that he wasn't dead. Wait.. he thought he understood what was happening here, "Immortality is contagious!?" It was... perhaps not the most logical conclusion, but logic was not typically at the forefront of the mind of people who had just been stabbed in the gut and then realized they weren't as dead as they thought they would or should be.

"We've of the same clan. Ancient bloodline. Allows us to regenerate through nearly anything, given we have the chakra for it. It's why I was able to stab my heart and come out just fine. You're still a weakling though."

His breath was calm and collected as he spoke, despite his typical rowdiness was still there, it was a rare occurrence that he actually gave even the slightest bit of respect, as he would others in his clan. Of course, he barely knew any of the people like him. While the main difference was their composure, as Hoshi lacked it at all times, even now he was less composed than the younger counterpart.

He was happy to find someone else who could share what was both a plight and a blessing. Both in disguise. It was just something natural to those of the bloodline. It's what made them, them. It's also what made them terrifying. He'd have to explain more in depth.

"You'll get used to the pain. I've been aware of the gift for ten odd years now, and I've been able to survive literal obliteration."

He still took deep breaths as he waited for the inevitable questions from the boy, who took getting stabbed randomly as well as one should. With terror and expectation to die. Not that Hoshi would know at this point. He's so lost in the world, he hardly realizes when he's in pain.

His thought process suddenly froze, forgotten was the thought of having just 'died', and ever present was the thought of just one word. It was amazing how much a single word, or just the thought of that word could affect someone. Someone who could get stabbed in the gut and have an explosively surprised, yet short lived reaction, could forget all about the aforementioned stabbing all to focus on a single word that wasn't even directly uttered by the other man who had in fact, stabbed him. Family. A word that Akira had hoped and prayed would eventually apply to him in some way, even if it was just referring to an adoptive family, or the family that he may marry into one day. He just wanted family. And, as per some insane answer to his prayer, he had found some. Biting back all of the myriad of thoughts and questions about his family that where whirring about in his mind, he settled on a single, simple question. "Are there more of us?" It was something he needed to know. Obviously this man wasn't his father, not due to age, though he had no way of knowing how old the man was, but due to the fact this man obviously held little care about Akira. But, if there were more of their clan, then perhaps he would be able to find his real parents. He had to actively focus to keep his chakra from flailing wildly as his heart rate increased through the excitement, joy and anxiety a moment like this brought about in a teenage boy.

"Probably."

Hoshi knew basically everything there was to know about the clan, except for its people. He had to try and figure out exactly who everyone was most of the time, as his brain often got destroyed. In fairness, it's an efficient method to kill someone. Most people can't survive when a sharp metal bit goes in and comes out.

He knew that others had to deal with clanmates, but he typically didn't. He was the Immortal for a reason, as there weren't actually anyone they he knew. Well, now he knew the small child. He didn't even remember his parents, admittedly. Probably something due to his rampant drinking. Something that he hoped Akira picked up on, as it was just the way to live.

Although the missions he did do, despite not doing many. There was a certain level of stark contrast betwene the two, as one was a fledgling, just coming in on their own, and one was Hoshi, who had been stabbed, slashed and injured so many times that he felt no pain. The mentality was so obviously different that one could see it just by looking in.

"I don't know. I just fight people and do stuff for the Shogun who doesn't exist at the moment. We need a new one, and I ain't doing it. I'm an attack dog, not a leader."

Despite his anger and general vulgarity, he was a smart man. He wasn't a top tier for no reason. He still sat, meditating, as he continued.

"Never seen a point to hunting out clan members. Get famous enough, and they'll come running to you anyway."

So he was actually in a clan, and there were more than likely other members. These were words that made Akira's dreams come true. Thinking back to the countless nights that he had stayed up wondering what his family would have been like should they not have abandoned him or lost him. He was relieved, overjoyed and full of a new life now that he knew that there was someone out there who was of his own blood and he was of theirs. Not to mention, that apparently, being in this clan made him immortal. Now that he thought about it, he had suffered some pretty major injuries in the past, but they never really slowed him down, and he had a lot more chakra than most people his age do, so it was most definitely peculiar. "...become famous and they will seek me out..." These were the words that the young Akashiya held onto as he continued to mold chakra around his body, he would need to become far more powerful to draw the attention of his clan, but this was a challenge he would most certainly be taking to heart and devoting his very soul into.

This was a casual thing for Hoshi, as he was just laying down facts that were sort of obvious in the first place. He'd admit, he took to his power of regeneration only because he had a basic, violent tendency. He didn't care. Fighting was fun and being able to take literally anything and keep going was an amazing power to have compared to literally anyone else. Sure, there were weapons in the world to stop it, but those were so far and in-between that it was almost useless to care about.

Hoshi still did, but nonetheless, he had to figure out how to help the gobsmacked youth in front of him to fully get through this without anyone having any sort of stroke from surprise.

"I think I'm gonna work on getting famous. For something other than passing out drunk." Or, as Hoshi was thinking about, his stupid spending habits to get that drunk. He literally had to buy an entire bars collection sometimes to actually get drunk. That was how much of a struggle it was for him on a day to day basis.

He still kept his breath steady, and made sure to keep molding his chakra properly.

"They'll truly know the name of Hoshi Akashiya. The Immortal being."

He needed to figure out how to show off his massive chakra reserves, but figured he'd have to ask an important question.

"You felt how taxing it was to heal that up, right?"

Akira had gotten lost in his thoughts, especially when the other man had introduced his enture name, which would in turn be Akira's as well... Akashiya ... that name was now permanently sealed into his mind. It was his name now, afterall. He was snapped out of his musings at the other mans question, indeed he felt some strain on his chakra reserves, even though it was slowly returning. He would nod to the man, "Indeed, i did feel some strain on my reserves, it only makes sense that a healing ability such as ours would be chakra taxing." He wondered briefly if he should work on finding someone of adequate skill to train him in some hand to hand techniques. But for the moment, he needed to work on increasing the amount and control he had over his chakra. That was what toom precedent until he reached a decent level there. Enough to ease his mind of worry.

Hoshi was mildly amused. This boy was going to end up being stronger than him. He felt it. The boy would provide many, many adventures in the future, when they got stronger. That'd make Hoshi happy. It's not as if Hoshi particularly cared if he won or lost. He just wanted to fight people. If he got to, that was a happy Hoshi. Well, as happy as the sort of insane man could be. He wasn't outright insane. He was just one who liked fighting to an abnormal extent.

Nonetheless, he sat and stayed calm. He had given the boy a lot to think about while they had meditated. He didn't have particularly much to think about, as he had just proved something he felt was correct.

He knew he had to train in the future. Maybe he'd go out and clear out some bandit camps. That's an easy feat for him, and allows his lust for battle to be fed. Either way it fell, it fell in favor to Hoshi. If he didn't go out and clear some camps, he'd just get drunk and pass out somewhere. It was a nice existence.

It was a nice time to be Hoshi. As everyone was willing to fight these days, with that funny organization buggering about.

Akira stood as he could feel his chakra had grown quite a bit in the time he had talked to the man. Not only had his chakra levels increased, but his own knowledge about himself had been increased. He had learned that he wasn't alone in the world and that he had a family. Akira Akashiya. A man from a clan, while he had met only one member, a rather enigmatic one at that, he had learned of a way to meet his other clansmen later. He just needed to work on building his strength and making a name for himself, becoming famous. It was a lofty goal, one shared by a majority of those who became samurai, but his version was a bit more noble. He needed the attention to draw out his reclusive clan. He needed to learn more, but now he had a name to study up on and search through the village registry for. Maybe he could get a location or something else. His chakra was now a bit larger, as was his level of joy. He was happy to have learned so much in just a single random training session, and it didn't hurt that he managed to increase his strength a bit more.
