Red Wall
Gekkido was pleased to find that this man's house was not actually red, but rather his barn was. This made more sense, but the green paint on the back of it did not. Gekkido and the old man found themselves on top of ladders working to get this out. The graffiti was extra thick, so the paint had to match it. Gekkido knew beyond a shadow of a doubt they would be there all day so he decided to get on with the question asking and intel gathering. He was an opportunist, and he saw the opportunity for wisdom wherever he went. He asked the man how he dealt with the rejection of a girl who he was in love with during his youth. Included in the question was a question of how one guards the heart from such folly, but that would be answered after the more important response was gained. The man told him how rejection had forced him to see himself in a way he never had before, and to reflect on his belief systems which were being challenged now more than ever. Gekkido realized the power of this as a man's beliefs needed to be consistent as well as powerful. Powerful people were the result of powerful thinking over time which went from thought seed into habit of action. The man's heart was broken around the same age as Gekkido currently was, and it was a turning point in his life. He spoke of how many young men used it as an excuse to be drawn into darkness and selfishness in relationships. The hatred and anger could grab hold of a man so easily and taint the greater parts of his character; shut down the more brilliant parts of his nature. He told Gekkido of the secret to his overcoming this. There were so many good reasons to do so and to not do so; but one reason in particular grasped him. He knew that if he chose to embrace and become his ideal and to accept his destiny, he would put all of divinity and nature on his side in every aspect of his life. So much so that he'd no longer have to worry about whether or not another person loved him or would come around when he desired them. He knew life would have no choice but to kneel to a man who became the true possessor of himself and servant to the powers at be. Once he found this out and discovered this truth, he knew his only responsibility and purpose was to become this ideal that had been so strongly implanted into his heart; everything else he worried about and feared would take care of itself. Gekkido nearly dropped the paint brush upon hearing this, but finished his job that night and went off with a kind of illumination an belief that he'd never experienced before.
