Wet n' Wild [P]

Kirei slid out of his bed early one morning, it was not normally a morning in which he would do a lot of outdoors training, but he had a particular thought to work on today, and that would be learning to control a certain element. Not Lava or Crystal, no he already had those, not fire or wind, those were known. No, today he would be learning the element of Water. It was fitting that he had found a small stream nearby with which to learn to control said element. He had learned a lot in his childhood about the various types of known elemental manipulations along with the methods one would use to train them. Water was a peculiar case, in that it required a source of water to begin the manipulation. While it is said some skilled users can draw their source directly from the moisture in the air, he was not at that level yet and as such made his way out to the stream to begin. It was a quaint scene, a small, trickling brook babbling down a slight incline through the forest. All in all, it seemed like the perfect place to train.

Wading around knee deep into the water, Kirei would begin to work on the most basic exercise that the book he read had detailed. For those who had already mastered the Water Walking Technique, they were to begin at the bottom of whatever body of water they were in and then to begin, while standing still, using the water under them to float to the surface. This sounded simple enough, but in reality, it was one of the more difficult things to do. He stood there for several hours, trying his hardest to bend the water to go under him instead of around him. It was at that moment, he had an epiphany, these exercises were all about helping the one taking them on, to learn more about the element they sought to control, and thus gaining that control through knowledge. Water was not something one beat into submission, each time you punch water, it just reforms. You need to give the water a jar, and it will conform its shape to fit. He didn't need to start off controlling the water, he just needed to guide it to do what he wanted it to do for the sake of this technique.

He started by slowly moving his chakra in a way, that would draw the water down to his feet and then in a way that would move his feet upwards. Once he got the hang of the fundamentals, it was quite easy to do, and he was able to master it in under two hours. Next came the really hard part, he had to stop the flow of the creek he was standing in. Simply cause it to stop, this was a task much easier said than done. The reason being, that this required one to exert an amount of control over the water, while the task prior had commanded that one simply guide the water. He spent the first hour simply standing in the creek again, making little to no progress. He pushed his chakra into the liquid, soaking it to the brim with his own energy, but when he commanded it to stop, it did not. It just kept on flowing like it always did. Just when he was about to stop to take a break, he saw the slightest shift in the way the water reacted when he tried to stop it. The creek seemed to shudder slightly, before resuming its steady crawl.

The moment he saw that progress, he mentally stopped himself from checking out and got back to work. The sign of improvement spurred him onwards and kept his perseverance alive while he trained. After several hours of slow progress, he stood on semi-wet sand... in the middle of the creek. He had succeeded in doing the things he set out to accomplish in the second task, and there was only one more left to complete before it was time to say he had mastered water manipulation! This task would take him on a journey to the opposite end of the island to even begin the training, but it would prove to be worth it, as with all of the progress he had shown, he was excited to see the final result of what all he had learned coming together to shot a mastery over an element he wouldn't have been able to use yesterday. He started his trek through the jungle, dodging traps that he, himself had set or even some Matsuda or Karasu had set for their own training or Kire's training in avoiding detection or any form of booby trap. This training was almost complete!

He continued his march through the thick jungle shrubs and towering canopies, he had to admit, once his training was complete, he would need to return here to train, he would miss this place. There were biomes suited to each Bijuu, with this forest of massive redwood tree's being the ones suited to his own Bijuu. As he leapt through the trees he imagined the kyuubi running alongside him, happy and free. That was a sight he longed for genuinely, while the nine-tails might hate him, he had nothing but compassion for it. Looking up, it would seem he had finally made it to the place he had chosen for this training part. The waterfall of truth. His task was simply to stop its flow. Given his last two tasks combined, it would be a daunting task, but given what he had learned, it was slightly less so. He got to work and spent hours sitting directly in the flow of the waterfall, conditioning his body, mind and allowing himself to really get an intimate feel for the power that is hidden behind the usually smooth and calm movements of water. suddenly though, the water around him stopped mid air. He had succeeded in his goal.
