Mission 2 [Flashback]

Mission:

Shin awoke knowing that today was going to be the day that he had set aside to tackle missions. He needed to get a steady income of Ryo, and the actual combat one gained from missions and the like didn't hurt either. He would need everything he could get his hands on in order to take on the vermin of the world. His time was drawing near, and with each passing night he had the same recurring dream from Jashin-sama about a great change coming. He needed to get stronger, so that he could face his destiny. One day soon, he knew he would need to do battle with someone strong and he would need to be ready for it.

Grabbing a mission contract, he read that it was to assassinate a mayor in the Land of Fire. It would seem that he had gotten too big for his mayoral boots and had began to abuse his newfound authority on the people of his town. He had armed guards and a well fortified township that was more apt to be compared to a fortress. Even the 'Mayor' himself was nothing more than a powerful shinobi who was abusing his power to bully the weak into submission so that he could rule over them like a king. This didn't sit well with Shin at all, he would put an end to this man if it was the last thing he did. Only the chosen of Lord Jashin should be put above others.

The first thing he needed to do was gather his supplies. Heading to the nearest store, he would restock with more weapons and supplies to help him prepare for the battle at hand. Once he was fully prepared, he would head out of the east gate of the village and in the direction that the town was supposed to be located.

As he walked he started to form different strategies for both infiltrating the village and defeating the one in charge. He was supposedly a master in the fire style, this worked well for Shin as he had the Water element which would make dealing with this guy far easier. He just needed to find the man's main base of operations and infiltrate it without raising too many alarms. Another possible option would be to just rush in and destroy everything, but that ran the risk of causing too many civilian casualties, which was not how the ANBU of Suna worked. This was not an option, but perhaps he would be able to glean more information from the town once he actually got there. He was getting close now, so it was time to begin to put phase one of his plan into action. 

He would stop off of the main road and take to the trees. As he approached the town from the trees, he stopped and was in awe. The wooden walls they had built around it were almost as large as the walls of Sunagakure itself. The guards were patrolling rather laxly though, it didn't seem that they were worried about much. They didn't seem to think anyone would be interested in attacking them as the town still paid its taxes to the Village of Konoha so it had no reason to suspect anything was amiss. Though they had made the mistake of getting in the way of a caravan of Sunagakure merchants. Their last mistake.

He made it into the village with relative ease, slipping past the guards completely unseen. Then managed to find the guard barracks as well as the building that served as the mayors 'office'. He made his way into the barracks first. There he found many different orders and tactics that the guards were to enact under various scenarios and different things they should do and prepare for. In the mayor's office, he found a record of each village member as well as plans for escape and evacuation of the town in the event of an incoming army. This gave him an idea. He now knew where to find both the seal that would begin the evacuation as well as everything that would take place during the evacuation. 

It would only be a moment before the alarm was sent up and the village evacuation would begin. And, right on cue, it happened. A loud sound filled the air and he could sense the hundreds of people making their way into the underground that led out of the village. It seemed they all had access tunnels directly under each of their homes to make a speedy escape if need be, smart.

Once he felt that every civilian had made it to safety, he released the hold he had been keeping on his bloodlust. The force of it being released cracked a smile across his face, he knew that they would soon feel it within the village as he felt them upping their defenses. He dashed at the main gate and slammed his fist into it. With a blast of chakra and raw strength, the massive gate was blown off its hinges, dented in half. This would prove to be a very interesting mission indeed. He moved in, the twenty or so guards seeming to be moving in slow motion. It was odd to be so much faster than his opponents, it was not something he was used to. Drawing a simple kunai, he would make his way to each guard slicing their throats. 

Once he was finished with them, he could smell the blood of many guards throughout the village and they were all coming for him. He would slow down and sheathe his blade and wait for them to come and see this invading army of one. He finally saw it, a group of nearly a hundred men closing in on his position. It was laughable, their expressions at seeing that all of their men had been defeated by a ten year old child. They would be joining their comrades in Jashins sweet embrace soon enough. He waited for the guardsmen to make the first move, he didn't want to rush this fight after all.

It would be difficult to face these men in normal circumstances, but to him, they were moving at a snails pace. He didn't even need his blade as the first few men came at him with their swords, clubs and axes. It was simple to dodge them and then give them a gentle push through the walls of the nearby buildings. His enhanced strength was very helpful here, and he was surely thankful for it. But, he was growing tired of wasting so much of his time on these men. He needed to hurry and get to his objective as he could sense the, building up defenses. He could also feel that his personal goal of killing their leader was slipping away by giving the man more time to escape. So, he pushed his speed back to full force and ran through the crowd stabbing and jabbing each of them multiple times with a blood spike. He hoped lord jashin was pleased with his handiwork.

Once he made it through the men, he took off in the direction that he could sense the last six people in the village were. He traced them back to a single building, one was on the roof, two were guarding the door and then there were two inside of the building not 30 feet from the final signature. He formulated a quick plan, seeing as he was eager to get to his main target. He would sneak up behind the guy on the roof, which was rather simple when suppressing his chakra. He then stabbed the man through the throat and prepared for his next attack.

He would drop from the roof of the building and land between the two guards. The moment he landed, he formed a Blood spear in each hand using their distraction and surprise at his sudden appearance to buy him time. Planting the spears in each guards stomach, it only took a moment before they died off. This mission was his first combat usage of the technique, and he had to admit that he was impressed. He entered the building silently. He decided to use the Hidden Mist Jutsu in order to disguise his approach somewhat. To his surprise, the guards actually separated themselves and journeyed out into the mist. 

So it would seem that they were either foolish or overconfident. He silently created another blade and ran it across the first guards neck. It took only a moment for his partner to find the body. He made his end rather quick as well by placing a strike through his heart and then kicking him hard enough that he knocked the doors down. In the room was his target. He only hoped that he put up more of a fight than the ones guarding him did.

He entered the room and was somewhat shocked that his target rushed him at a speed that was almost equal to his own. He dodged the straight punch and moved a few meters away to avoid the kick that followed. He had to rush through the handsigns for the wild water wave to beat the fireball the man shot at him. It would seem that he was a cut above the rest of his enemies of the day. He was most definitely an A-rank in strength as he sent a punch to Shin that he caught but could feel the man pushing back at him. He ended up forming a blood spike in his free hand to cause the guy to jump back. 

It was to his annoyance that the man spewed a mouthful of glowing ash from his gullet. One that he knew would  burn him should it hit, which would be annoyingly painful. So, he lept backwards out the window behind him and landed on the roof of a nearby building. The man quickly followed him but wasn’t expecting him to fight back with his blood spear. It didn’t make much contact but managed to cut the man, which is all he wanted. Allowing his spear to break apart into droplets of blood the two would intermingle as his blood formed a seal on the other mans arm. At that moment, Shin’s body would transform, his skin turning black with bone white markings on it, his eyes turning red and hair fading to white. It was time to become close to Jashin-sama. The man drew a kunai and lunged at him, but he allowed it to come. The man pierced Shin in his heart. It was the last attack he ever did. His own heart received a wound as Shin’s eyes rolled back in pure bliss. As the man fell to the ground dead, shins body would fade back to normal and he would dissolve his blood blade. Taking the mans head back to the bounty office in the land of wind to collect his reward, he would make his way back to the village at a leisurely pace.

As the village came into view behind the dunes he paused in horror at what he saw. On the horizon, plumes of Black and white smoke rose high into the sky like clouds. The once great walls were broken down with holes belying something big was used to destroy them. He quickly shook himself from his stupor and rushed down to the village itself. He was clearly a few hours after whatever had happened but there were still many civilians and Shinobi alike trapped beneath the rubble from one of the walls. He helped the Shinobi there with removing the rubble and healing those trapped within to the best of his ability, he still had no idea what happened. But when he found out, he swore a blood oath that he would take down this “Black Sun” menace once and for all.
