Start 'em Young! [P][Flashback]

A four year old Raiden wandered into the den of his father's study. He had found a rather curious piece of paper that he wanted to play with. The moment he picked it up however, it grew damp and fell apart. He was sad at this, but when his father found him, the man had been absolutely ecstatic. He couldn't believe his son had already found out his first element. Of course, it would take time to master it, but now that he knew which element he was most attributed to, he would be able to begin his training muc sooner than any other students his age. His own father hadn't learned his first element until he was halfway through the academy, and here his son hadn't even entered the academy yet. He would immediately begin the boys training, taking him out of the main building in the compound and leading him to a small creek that flowed through one of their many courtyards. He began to instruct the boy on how to use his chakra to stop the flow of the creek. It would be slow going it seems.

Raiden was now five and had learned to utilize his water nature chakra in many different ways, to stop the flow of the creek, to splitting the creek, and even to stopping the flow of a water fall or causing the water to fall around him instead of on him. Even when it rains, he can stop the water from getting on him. Even as far as for being able to draw water from the very air itself to drink or bathe in. All in all, while he wasn't ready for any jutsu yet, he had learned quite a bit as far as pure elemental manipulation is concerned. When he tried the paper test again, it turned to dust, which meant that the second element he had an affinity for was actually the earth element, though he was sure it would be a bit more difficult to learn, since it was quite the opposite compared to manipulating free flowing water. But, that didn't dissuade him, it actually made him want to begin his training more! But, he had to finish his mastery of the water nature before he could begin working on Earth.

Raiden, now six, had decided that he would begin to broaden his horizons by learning a new element to add to his repertoire. He felt that fire would be the most difficult due to his natural affinity to water, so he decided he would go with the earth release that he had seen some other clansmen use around the village. Now, he had no real way of knowing how to begin his earth nature training, so he supposed he would start with something simple. He picked up a rock from the ground in front of him and he would attempt to manipulate his chakra to churn the rock to dust.

His chakra moved swiftly through the rock, but nothing happened. He did this for several minutes to no avail. It wouldn't take long before he stopped and threw the rock down in a small fit of frustration. It would hit the ground, but would remain solid. His father came out to aid him, having been a master of Earth nature from a young age. He pointed him in the right direction before he had to leave to handle some more clan business. But, with the man's guidance, he knew he could finish this before his next birthday.

After the aid from his father, He noticed how the rock stayed strong when it hit the ground, yet when he pushed his chakra through it, he moved it as he did when using his water chakra. Water was definitely a flowing nature, that would flow along a current of chakra that he provided, but earth wasn't like this. He needed to use his chakra in a solid and founded manner to manipulate the earth as he wanted to. He would pick the rock up again, slamming his chakra into it and around like it was another rock itself. Of course, this took several tries to get right, but in the end, he managed to begin the process. The first step, grind the rock into dust with pure chakra.

It was still slow going, but he could see the rock slowly begin to let off dust, showing that is was working. As he continued to push chakra into the rock, he would begin to remember some of the jutsu that he had seen demonstrated throughout the village and by his father and how he might could integrate them into his own fighting style once he graduated the academy.

Now was the time to really dive into his element training. Raiden would push his chakra around inside the stone far more fervently now that he saw progress and before long, he managed to make the rock crack some and finally, it broke. So, he managed to crack and break it apart with just chakra, but he wanted to be able to turn it into dust with his chakra alone. So, he found another rock of a similar size and got to work. It took him a couple of hours, but he managed to wear it down to pure dust. He then found another rock and tried to do it faster. This went on for nearly two hours before he was finally able to get his time to a point that he was happy with it. He continued to work on this exercise every day, in addition to his water nature and other studies until by the time he was seven and entering the academy, he was quite skilled with its usage. He was almost ready to begin learning jutsu, at almost three or four years sooner than other future ninja of his age.
