Appearance: Tall and mostly slender, Roku is the perfect build for a Shinobi.  He has rather tanned skin with little variation, as he spends a lot of time in his private tanning room in the lord’s keep tanning nakedly to avoid tan lines.  He has brown eyes and ear length brown hair that he always allows to flow freely but just happens to fall perfectly in place.  He has a lean, muscular build, but nothing bulky.  His eyes are usually rather kind, but a wise person can see the hurt and pain inside Roku that he tries his best to cover.

As far as attire, Roku mostly wears suits on a daily basis.  He prefers white on black color schemes, but will tolerate red on black and blue on black.  Roku tends to carry a walking stick as well, whether that be a cane or a specialized dueling cane, of which he is a big fan. Even during Taijutsu lessons, Roku does his best to wear only suits, and even had his custom tailored to allow for maximum mobility and flexibility.  The only exception Roku makes to his suit attire is that he wears sleek black combat boots to avoid the injury possibilities that would be present with dress shoes.  Overall, Roku just seems like an extremely formal and well-dressed boy, especially for his young age.

Personality: Roku’s most obvious and shallow personality traits are his stubbornness, gentlemanliness, and perviness.  He rarely listens to other people’s opinions, and only does so on the rare occasions because of his training with his stewards to become a proper gentlemen.  He refers to nearly everyone as “Milord, sir, milady, madam,” and so on and so forth.  He rarely uses foul language and keeps himself completely composed almost all the time.  The times that he does not manage to keep himself in check are when women are involved.  At his young age, women are a new concept to care about for him, and when in the comfort of privacy, Roku loves dirty jokes.  He often-times can’t help trying to flirt – and usually fail at it – with the other girls his age that he meets.  In fact, meeting girls was one of the most important points his parents brought up as to why he should join the Ninja academy.

Below all this, however, Roku is hurt.  He is lonely and desperate for attention, and the reason he acts the way he does with women is because, even at his young age, he is desperate to have a girlfriend, or significant other in his life because he has always seen how the lord and his mistresses are constantly so close and intimate and he longs for such a connection with someone.  Roku is jealous of such things and is even willing to let himself look terribly foolish for the small chance of getting close to having a significant other that will always give him the time of day.  Roku blames his parents for this feeling, as he knows it’s there, and believes that it is their fault that he feels the way he does about himself.

Character History: Marya and Kokoro Senju are both extremely specialized, extremely dangerous, and extremely notorious ex-members of the Konohagakure ANBU Black Ops.  These two, formerly known only by their codenames Sage (Marya) and Dragon (Kokoro), were a military might, ghosts of assassins, terrors in the night.  They were sent on missions that, most of the time, ninja on par with even the Hokage would not be trusted to undertake.  They were Gods among men.  Identities hidden, they slew warlords, stole from kings, and manipulated tyrants to give away their power.  Eventually, the two garnered too much attention; fame is not a thing that a member of the ANBU Black-Ops wants to acquire, and the two became local folk heroes.  Because of this, they were expelled from the ANBU and given positions as Generals in the Konohagakure military.  In the meantime, they fell in love, were wed, and Marya conceived a child.

When an enemy force attacked a small village in the Land of Fire, Konohagakure’s force responded.  Both Generals were given missions in the area, Marya only as a tactician on account of her pregnancy.  They easily, within a few hours, completely thwarted the enemy force, leaving almost none alive.  So then they returned to Konohagakure only to find that their mission was a diversion to get at the real target; the Hokage.  However, the enemy force could not take the Hokage himself, and instead took a village elder, not a ninja in herself, but a brilliant tactician in Konohagakure’s military nonetheless.  They learned of the woman’s position; overseer of a particular elite sect of the ANBU Black Ops – the sect in which Marya and Kokoro were a part – and extracted information from her.  One of their favorite gems was the identity of Sage and Dragon, the most dangerous combatants Konoha had to offer.  

A few months and many assassination attempts later, Roku Senju was born – only his name was Roku Enzoka, and Marya and Kokoro were not his parents – or so that was what he was taught.  The parents feared for their baby boy’s safety, but they were not willing to leave Konohagakure, their home and their nation, behind.  So, they sent him away.  Having earned particular favor with one of the feudal lords in the Land of Lightning, the parent’s convinced the man to take Roku in at just a few hours old, not to meet again for many many years.  The boy was taught growing up that his parents were heroes and were on top secret missions for Kumogakure and that they could not have much contact with him because of the danger that that could impose on Kumogakure – but of course that was a lie, as they were Konohagakure ninja.  

The boy grew up with a lavish lifestyle, as the feudal lord that took him in was also the lord that owned the blacksmiths who forged ninja weapons for Kumogakure.  Roku saw this business as a symbol for the absence of his parents, however, and took to hating most ninja weapons – though, for some reason, he was still attracted to the kunai.  He grew up under strict tutelage of two very well-trained stewards, and he learned to dress in suits in nearly all situations, to always use his proper manners, and to read far more into body language than was ever necessary.  The lord pushed Roku from a very young age to join the ninja academy, especially since the boy’s parents had been so powerful; and the lord was the only one who knew of Roku’s Senju heritage other than his parents – not even he knew. But Roku refused to become a ninja, despite often sparring with, and usually defeating his friends who were in training to be ninja, without any actual training himself.  

It wasn’t until the first, and only time, that Roku met his parents that he finally decided to join the academy at age 14.  Though they did not reveal their true identities to Roku, and even wore disguises so that Roku would not recognize them, they did meet him.  Though he was unsure as to why he cared so much about his parents’ opinion, as he was sure he hated them, they pushed him to become a ninja as well, and for some reason, he listened.  Having done extremely well in his entrance exams, Roku was actually promoted to a specialized rank called "probationary Genin," which is essentially an ordinary Genin that still has to attend some academy classes that relate to strategy, history, and more academy subjects instead of simply combat subjects. He has to attend these classes twice weekly, but they count as a D-Rank mission each time, as he is now a fully employed Shinobi and is paid for his efforts. We begin on the first day of his new promotion.
