Karasu smiled as Kirei slowly fell back asleep after experimenting with this most recent development. Thankfully, it seemed that he was going to be all right. The older Uchiha had noticed that, as he flushed the chakra and replaced it, Kurama was capable of assisting with the surgery and dramatically increased it's success rate. Rubbing his own arm where he had cut open several veins, he glanced down and ensured that the scars were fading properly. Kirei's were less likely to disappear as soon as his, given their placement and severity, but they could always remove them later if he wished.

Stumbling back to his own room, Karasu collapsed on the bed, completely worn out from the day. He had done his best to seem strong while his nephew was awake, but he was still terrified at how close he was to losing one of the last family members he had left. Akane and Masami were around, but had gone their own ways, and their father was out of contact...Well, one thing at a time.

Sleep came first.
