| "How long has it been since i've laid eyes on this landscape? Almost feel's like an eternity has gone by hasn't it?," the lone male began to monologue to himself as he sat legs over one another in a seemingly out of place tree on the ravine. The raven haired male sat comfortably in the canopy of the tree overlooking the ravine with a very...lackluster look on his face. He had just arrived back in the village from a mission and yet it felt as if he had been gone for ages more. The feel of the land no longer felt the same and it was as if he was in a foreign land...maybe he just felt dead? It could have been, but Touta knew more than this. The young Senju heaved a long sigh as he stared up into the sky, trails of rain seeping from the sigh as he gave a small smile and looked outward back to the ravine. It was going to be one of those days. | |

| With naught a flicker of motion, the hard-eyed man appeared in the ravine. His pretext for coming out here was training at the behest of the now-missing kage, but he was really just feeling restless.
"Just" restless? He knew he was merely trying to trivialize the problem. There was a truth inherent to his existence that he couldn't help but think about. It was, of course, the fact that he wasn't real, from a certain perspective. Oh, he was here, all right, and here was certainly experiencing emotion, which qualified him as well as anyone else, but that wasn't the point, god dammit.
Well, it certainly wasn't something HE could do anything about. His younger self would have been able to- no, his younger self WOULD do something about it, even if that "something" boded poorly for everyone else.
Unlike the village, this ravine wasn't filled with his flying thunder god seals, maybe one or two here and there that he'd left there a while ago. Nevertheless, there weren't any nearby, so he reached down and placed one, the seal manifesting before fading into invisibility. Looking up, he spotted the fellow in the tree. Kumo headband, so obviously a member of the village.
"Identify yourself." Short and brief. With any luck, the guy wouldn't recognize him, but given how people had written about him in the history books, the chances of that were low.

| The rain had been...nice for some reason, almost cooling to the touch and yet it was always nice in the company of one other. The male had not noticed the presence of the male coming into the view and yet the rain did. His eyes, well the one eye that could be seen slowly lowered itself to look at the male more clearly as the amber orb trailed his features looking for anything familiar. Nothing. Nothing had stood out about the male not even knowing if he had been in the village longer than him, but something did stand out about him- He felt dangerous. As the male spoke the rain would let up almost as if the males presence caused it to happen. A right hand stretched into the sky as the male sighed and looked up,"The rain always eludes me when i want it most. Hm? Oh you were speaking to me right," the male, known as Tota sat up in the tree, crossing his legs and pressing his back against the trunk as he got comfy and yawned.
"My name is...Tota. And to whom do I owe the pleasure of this...mysterious visit to? I don't recognize you...or your aura but i'm assuming you've been here longer than me no?," the male was far me inquisitive than he lead on, seemingly lackadaisical from a glance though within that eye of his....was something far worse.

| Kozai's mind flew, matching the name to the files he had access to (even after decades upon decades of service spanning just over two lifetimes, there were still documents that weren't for his eyes), and found the kid. Right, the picture seemed to match, too. Good. It looked like this guy was a Senju clansman, but that didn't matter much to Kozai. He had finished serving his travesty of a family within the first thirty years of his life. Still, that didn't mean that he had a bad impression of this Tota fellow. Nevertheless, he hoped that this guy wasn't one of those hardcore loyalists to the clan.
It also seemed that Tota didn't recognize who he was on sight. A wave of relief washed through Kozai, though he didn't let it show in the slightest. At least he could have a normal conversation, then. Lord knows he needed more of that nowadays. Even in this "post-modern" era, people had a hard time talking to veterans. Always trying to dodge around "PTSD triggers" that didn't exist, or simply avoiding talking to them entirely. Had human beings really become so sensitive?
"You could say that." Kozai had a seat at the bottom of the trunk, his joints aching as he did so. He knew he could clean up that problem, too, with but a thought, but with pain and discomfort came discipline and lucidity.
"Name's Kozai. Just thought I'd take a quick patrol around here before heading off to the bar for the night." Some of the bar owners actually liked him. He brought consistent business, though he wasn't always a great conversation partner.
