Peer into the past[Flashback]

Year one. Senjiro took up the mantle of Mizukage exactly one year ago this day. The Nara was inaugurated as the Mizukage with a great deal of expectation. Senjiro was young but bold all the same. He remembered how it all came to be. The previous Mizukage abandoned his post, leaving the village void of leadership. In response to this, the seven swordsmen were summoned and consulted. This resulted in a vote and subsequently a battle took place. One which ultimately decided who would reign as the new Mizukage. Senjiro battled his fellow swordsman, better yet fellow swordswoman. Kireina showed herself worthy but soon succumbed to Senjiro’s charms. Here he was in his office thinking back on past times. He had a smile on his face while thinking back on things. On that day Gekkido proved his worth to Senjiro. Both men were allies and had been so for quite some time. Thinking back on that fateful night, their bond was solidified by slaying a murderous cunt. The man got what he deserved no doubt, and he wasn’t missed at all. Senjiro sighed while taking a trip down memory lane. He needed to get on with his paperwork. This was perhaps the only part that he did not like. Holding the title of Mizukage comes with a great deal of responsibility. One year in and it was going according to plan. No real threat to the village, not to mention his citizens all seem to be happy. Senjiro can only continue to serve them and hope he lives up to the expectations set upon him. There he was now sat in his office on this peaceful day. But as per usual, Senjiro saw this as a wonderful opportunity to train. The Mizukage activated the first stage of his curse seal. And upon doing so he began channelling his chakra. His senjutsu chakra was directed into a seal placed on the centre of his chest. He made sure to drain the senjutsu chakra granted at this stage into the seal. And once this was done, Senjiro transitioned into his stage two state. His appearance obviously changed, but he did it for a specific reason. He resumed the process of course, directing his senjutsu chakra into the seal. After some time passed, the rapid consumption of chakra was completed. The seal was looking to now tap into his own chakra reserves. The Mizukage instead decided to deactivate the curse seal. Doing this one too many times will serve him well in the future. Every time that the man repeated the process of draining his senjutsu chakra and storing it. Senjiro also made sure to train his own chakra reserves. It was best if he continued to increase it through training. So, while his actions appeared most casual. There was always some method to the madness. Training his own chakra as well as storing senjutsu is a thing of grave importance to him.

Year two. Senjiro sat atop of a hill with his hanuman curse seal activated. While in its initial stage, the Shinobi began directing his senjutsu chakra into the seal on his chest. He remembers doing the same in the past year. The seal wasn’t yet required in battle, because for some time now they experienced peace. Still here he was pondering events which transpired across the Shinobi world. There was news of countries being destroyed and taken over. There were also the movements of a certain organization which bore no fruit. Senjiro alongside Koten often investigated the rumours and most times came up with nothing. The culprits were always one step ahead. In most events, Senjiro and his gang arrived a little too late. This was problematic. So here he was now trying to think of a way forward. As usual though, Senjiro will use every opportunity that he has to train. He was adamant about not wasting time doing nothing. He was growing uneasy and sensed that danger could be around the corner. The Mizukage directed the senjutsu chakra into the seal. And as the last drop of stage one chakra was depleted. He made the quick transition into state two. He resumed the process of course, directing his senjutsu chakra into the seal. After some time passed, the rapid consumption of chakra was completed. And weakness was not tolerated, especially from someone such as the Mizukage. Senjiro knows that he needs to be strong in mind, body and soul. Year three. The hidden mist village had finally settled down. But while Kirigakure remained prosperous, other lands was faced with famine and disaster. The Mizukage found himself in a council meeting. There he discussed the situation in other lands. He as informed of Iwagakure and Kumogakure’s unfortunate demise. Here he was being urged by his advisors to sure up the village’s defences. At the same time, Senjiro needed to deal with the refugee situation. There were Shinobi flooding in from all over the lands. Minor and major countries marched their people to the doorsteps of Kirigakure. Senjiro’s first thought was to turn them away. But he decided to take on a diplomatic approach. Thus, began a screening process before accepting outsiders into the village. The Mizukage made sure that outsiders were not privy to the inner workings of the village. There was also the matter Kirigakure treasure. The seven swords of the mist are indeed precious commodities. Senjiro made sure that they were protected. In fact, he recalls having to deal with a pair of thieves. They experienced a swift death and was used as a deterrence for others. Senjiro watched the council members leave. And with this he was given a bit of privacy. The Mizukage used this moment to train again. The man activated his curse seal of hanuman. And so, went on the direct his stage one senjutsu chakra into the seal on his chest. He followed the same method as it worked so well in the past. Once all his stage one senjutsu chakra was stored. He was officially a grown as man, far from being described as a mere boy. The Mizukage may indeed take offense to referred to as such. Senjiro was grateful to be able to see his mother and father again in the same place. So much so that he made sure to add a trip to Konoha to his bucket list. Senjiro also has friends in Konoha too, most notably a man named Hyuuga Kyo. Senjiro was grateful to the man for the gifts that he bestowed upon him. Senjiro made sure to use said gifts whenever possible. Here he was now with the party over. The guests began leaving in droves while Senjiro prepared for bed. The Mizukage found himself in his own room now. He was comfortable and thankful for the silence. He decided to do something that he’s been doing for the past five years. The Mizukage activated his curse seal of hanuman. And upon entering its first stage, Senjiro started directing his Senjutsu chakra into the seal on his chest. It was done swiftly, so much so that he was reminded of Samehada. The weapon which was leaned against his bed. The legendary blade had stayed by his side for so long now. Their bond was strong, made evident by the obstacles that they overcame together. Once his stage one chakra was drained into the seal. Senjiro activated the second stage of the curse seal. In every instance his appearance changed in response to the curse seal. He resumed the process of course, directing his senjutsu chakra into the seal. After some time passed, the rapid consumption of chakra was completed. The seal was looking to now tap into his own chakra reserves. The Mizukage instead decided to deactivate the curse seal. Year five. The Mizukage was now twenty-one years old and has come into his own. The village was run as smoothly as ever. The people of the hidden mist hardly experienced any conflict. Senjiro made sure that war did not reach his doorsteps. In the meantime, there are rumours of a secret buried inside Iwagakure. The village was destroyed a few years ago, but now quite a few people seem to want to explore the rubble. The kind of rumours that Senjiro heard was enough to get his old friend Gekkido excited. The blue haired man recalls all the conversations they use to have back in the day. The temple of the Kaguya was truly magnificent and on its walls were story. But only a few were ever interested in them. Senjiro on the other hand paid close attention to Gekkido’s words. The Mizukage was once again in his office and was now at the end of the day. With the final bit of paperwork signed. Senjiro decided to dedicate sometime into training. This training saw him activate his curse seal. And once done the senjutsu chakra from its first stage was directed into the seal on his chest. Senjiro drained himself of his Senjutsu chakra. And when at his limit, the man transitioned into the second stage. He resumed the process of course, directing his senjutsu chakra into the seal. After some time passed, the rapid consumption of chakra was completed. The seal was looking to now tap into his own chakra reserves. The Mizukage instead decided to deactivate the curse seal. Doing this one too many times will serve him well in the future. Everytime that he repeated this process it felt like déjà vu. The world has changed a lot in the last five years. He was beginning to wonder what was around the corner now. Every time that the man repeated the process of draining his senjutsu chakra and storing it.
