| Kozai had quite the morning's work ahead of him, despite still being tired from filling out all that damn paperwork last night. Since when had this village been run by such a bureaucracy? He shook his head in disapproval. Still, at least he got to spend some quality time polishing up some of his old weapons. If he was going to get back into the field, he supposed that it should be sooner rather than later. He could, of course, do the whole de-rusting of his skills... why not start with one of his kekkei genkai? There was no way that could go wrong, right?
Magnet release was a good start. Nothing outlandish, really. He flicked his sleeves and over the floor of his room appeared his old kunai that he had used for his flying thunder god technique. Now that he'd figured out how to use it again, he could derive some of his old tricks without having to break any of his memory blocks. He figured that if he could do that, he could stave away any bad results indefinitely. He reached down to the nearest one and marked it with a Hiraishin seal. One down, ninety nine to go.

| He reached out his hand and flexed his chakra, trying to figure out the old composition that he needed. He'd trained this before, so his body and chakra knew what to do instinctively, but most of the intricacies were hidden behind the conciousness cache overrides that he'd placed in his mind. Well, at least he wouldn't have to start over from the beginning, that was the good part. He kept his chakra carefully reigned in, flexing it as it turned into a weak magnetic field. Hmm, try again in a few minutes, maybe. It wasn't quite strong enough to make the kunai move yet, so he picked up a few more and marked them with the Hiraishin seal as well. That was the task set before him that he wanted to complete. Getting this done would allow him a few more options in combat. Well, that was another 29 done. Easy enough, though it was taking a bit of a toll on his chakra.
Taking another swig of his drink, he kept going as the rain started to fall outside. Right, that brought him an idea. He turned on his television until he reached a static-y channel. This would serve his purposes just fine. [2/5]

| He raised his hand toward the television and flexed his chakra again, feeling a decent portion leave his body and expand into a magnetic field. He could definitely produce the basics of the techniques, but the refinement eluded him. So, he could just use his home television as a receiver and an EM measurement device, in a way. All he had to do was envision a result he wanted and see if he could manipulate his chakra in various ways to make the static form fancy patterns. A rather childish way to do training, for sure, but it wasn't a bad option, all things considered.
At first, there was no result, but when he started making slight tweaks here and there in his movement, the static started to shift accordingly. Not bad, but he could do better. He made the slight tweaks more consistent in rhythm, and made the change in chakra nature even more focused. Right, it was all about precision rather than brute force with these kinds of things. He'd almost forgotten about that in his old age and near senility from the alcohol. He knew that he really could kick the habit whenever he wanted to, but it was his DUTY not to. [3/5]

| He stopped in exhaustion and marked a few more kunai for another hour or so until even that stressed him out. Man, just how out of shape was he? Even a damn chunin kid could outpass him at this rate. He'd have to actually start seriously training again. Naturally, his muscles and liver protested at the very thought, but what choice did he have? If this Lucifer fellow was going to call him back into active duty, his imperative was that he do his best. He clenched his fist in resolve, and his TV screeched in response. Ha, that did it. He was nearly there. All he had left was a few kunai and his trusty (albeit flimsy) katana. Shinobi surplus, but it might as well have been discount.
He took a quick break to rest and recover, heading out with a light jacket into the drizzle as the more sane people of the village ducked for cover. The weather system coming over the mountaintops was going to develop into something nice and powerful tonight. Taking another swig from his totally not enhanced bottle, he raised his hand and there was a crash as the remaining tools flew out at him. [4/5]

| He caught each one in turn and sealed them all, placing the Hiraishin seal on each kunai and then sealing them into his clothing. Finally, the katana came out, and he pivoted slightly, catching it. Perfect. marking that as well, he'd go out on a rather invigorated stroll. He felt contented, which was rare for someone like him. Getting back into the flow of things might not be as bad as he'd first anticipated. Despite all the energy he'd just spent doing a mundane task that he could have completed over the course of a couple of days, he felt empowered.
Now there was one thing left to do. He wasn't sure why this was important, but he marked himself as well. Never know when that might come in handy, considering that for some weird reason, clones he made also had similar seals on them. As such, he could transport to them if he needed to, though this seemed... necessary. Meh, it was fine. A minor expenditure of chakra for something so mundane didn't seem that bad, after all. He slowly began to make his way through the stirring crowds to some eatery toward the middle of the village, the exhaustion slowly bleeding out of his system. [5/5]
